@damselfly Interesting points,, and obviously the actual charges would vary a bit between countries according to national law.

There was a case in Britain some decades ago (in fact I think in the 1970s) which involved "actual bodily harm", between men involved in BDSM acts. It was all consensual if perhaps a bit too rough, no-one died, and I don't why the charges were brought. I forget the outcome but it must have been a difficult case to consider in court.

@ArishMell it cant have been fully consensual if so much actual bodily harm was caused that it became known about outside the group (a trip to A & E to repair the injury for instance). It might be that film footage of the event got into outside hands. The fact that anyone else got to know about it...
