I love the embarrassment and humiliation of going into a langerie store to buy panties. The sales women will ask what size is she. I would blush and say they are for meand I need a size 8. I love their reaction.
I got over the embarrassment of doing that a long time ago but well remember going in to my first lingerie store in Montreal in the late 70's. I was maybe 19-20 then and in University and was so nervous I was shaking like a leaf. The saleslady was maybe in her late 30's and she was so kind and so helpful, I was so shy and scared to tell her they were for me but she knew, she even took my measurements first. I spent what was then a pretty good amount of money at over $100 and returned to that same store many times over the years even after I'd left Montreal behind. The store and the saleslady are long gone now but buying there was a lot better than stealing panties from the laundry room like I'd been doing for years before that event, these were mine and I'd bought them for ME! 😃
@Tonyjf50 Sadly not lately, the Pandemic has made a lot of the stores pretty much empty now and you don't see near the number of people in them that you used to. More often than not now, I get the evil eye when shopping in the lingerie or ladies clothing section of stores these days.
@1958chrissy I can feel the sweat dripping from my Armpits , as I tell the sales lady there for me. I always blush. Once a sales lady ask me to leave, I was hurt, but respected her wishes
I don't understand women's clothing sizes so don't know what that means. All I know is size 8 is considering skinny almost unhealth anorexic while size 10 to 12 are 'regularly', and size 14 upwards is 'large'.
But in terms of actual measurements I wouldn't have a clue.
I also don't really understand breast sizing and bras. I only know that A is considered small, B and C are what seem to be considered 'normal', D is considered big and E upwards is very big.
Again in terms of actual measurements I wouldn't have a clue.
@Tonyjf50 size 6 would be anorexic gym fitness queen in my understanding but as I don't date or have a romantic partner I don't get to explore women's bodies or clothing.
@Tonyjf50 38 meaning 38 inches? I'm a 'M' guy for most things. To me a woman in size 12 is 'wholesome', bigger is getting large. Boobs I've only ever seen size b/c/d in person naked.
A few years ago, the chaplain from Houston's Seaman's Center told about seaman from Russia and other eastern European countries. When In port, they would go shopping but had no concept of sizes. The chaplain would go with them and ask the seamen to identify a sales lady who was about the same size as their wives. Then he asked their panty and bra sizes for the seamen to buy. The chaplain had more guts than I have.
