One person One Vote! Not electoral college

In this day and age there really should just be each vote is equal. I live in California with 39 million people and it goes overwhelmingly Democratic. My vote is worth less than a vote in Wyoming or Montana. I think my vote should count as much as theirs!

Our founding fathers made sure it was
Fair for all Americans.

@Dino11 Define fair? Is it fair that a vote in Montana is worth far more than a vote in California? The founding fathers used it as a compromise to get the lower population, then richer southern states to join the union. They had no idea what poser they gave them. They also had no idea how gerrymandering would play out to further alter the balance of power. It is odd that the senatorial vote is now population-based.

@Dino11 you really need to get out more... It's anything but fair 🤣
Dino11 · M
@Convivial why didn’t you say that in 2020?
Trump (45,47) in 2024.

@Dino11 I, and a lot more people, did

I agree with that. It used to be the state's reps elected senators. Now they are another 2 bit popularity contest

@samueltyler2 in case you never learned it, we ARE NOT a democracy. We are a constitutional republic
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Thrust you don't have to be condescending.

@samueltyler2 ok sorry. But I'm reminding everyone we are not a democracy. That is mob rule
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Thrust the founding fathers put in place protecting me so a majority could not squash the interests of a minority. Unfortunately, that is backfiring now. A small minority can control the majority.

@samueltyler2 that's how lt's always been. Anytime and everywhere
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Thrust it has become a truly serious issue in the US recently. I was never afraid before.

@samueltyler2 that's on you. I don't feel unsafe but I do fret over the country's future. I've been saying since 2000 the country should split but remain allies.

Too many different agendas and too many that hate their country
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Thrust I don't think anyone hates the country.
