This video in essence, is someone 'old' news here in Canada. It was about 10 months ago that Mark Carney increased the export price of Canadian electricity to the USA by 25%, which equates to about $10 per megawatt for
American businesses and households. This was in direct response to Trump's tariffs.
I'm not saying that this incident in the video didn't happen through the use of algorithms in response to Trump shooting off his mouth, but I am very much aware of Canada's newly minted mini-nuclear power generators located on the north side of the border from coast to coast which are actually America's future power supply, produced by Canadian taxpayer dollars.
The purpose of these nuclear generators is to supply the US market, not the Canadian market, though the power itself can be diverted northward if required by Canada.
Those mini-nuclear reactors are about the size of a bus shelter on a street corner, which means they are essentially unnoticeable. The reason Canada built those reactors is because the US had no money to build their own.
Canada now supplies (in part) every State in the USA except the State of Texas who generate their own power from fossil fuel-burning generators and are essentially independent of the American power grid itself. The US generates it's own electrical power as well, but their power grid hasn't been upgraded since the 1960s.
It was only 2 day ago I watched on Canadian TV where the Province of Nova Scotia is building offshore wind turbines to make electricity to sell to the State of Massachusetts. That power can be diverted north if required if things go off the rails south of the border.
I think what would happen more accurately stated, is that the price wouldn't necessarily increase each time Trump shot off his mouth, but instead the availability of electricity could easily be throttled-back in response to Trump's rhetoric, thereby causing brown-outs along the eastern seaboard of the USA.
This is more about Canada making a statement to the USA of who it is that's really in charge here. Canada doesn't need the money that it makes from sale of electricity to the USA, but dimming the lights is one way to remind Trump who's in charge of the switch, which I think is kinda funny actually! 🇨🇦

This you tube presentation is the only report on this incident thus far. So maybe it is false news?

@Gusman Indeed. That is possible. It is certainly an AI speaking. But American media isnt the sharpest tool in the shed.. I suppose we will hear it on our new in 10 hours or so.. But if it is genuine, the price of US East coast power just went through the roof and kept going. Business and industry will be hit hard and people way freeze..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Agree. I too thought it was AI speaking. Several times, words were repeated, which raised my suspicions.

@bookerdana That was a while ago. But certainly Trumps bluff on the latest Canada trade deal has been well and truly called..And nothing Trump or the States can do in the short term to fix it. It would take years to bring more power into the grid..And all those Data centres wont be happy. Of course, they can all move to Canada..... Just sayin' 😷
