President Biden publicly and strongly supported the 2022 protests in Iran, which erupted after Mahsa Amini's death, by condemning the violence, sanctioning officials like the Morality Police, and working to ease internet access for Iranians, stating the U.S. stands with the "brave women and citizens" demanding rights. His administration shifted from past hesitation, taking concrete steps like facilitating internet access and imposing further sanctions, signaling a direct stance against the Iranian government's crackdown.

I supported Biden and the protesters then; I support the protesters now.

Well, they supported the Iranian regime with billions in cash, reduced sanctions, and a similar idiology and common hatred of Israel. They'll definately side with the current Iranian government. The people of Iran know it and that's why they're taking this huge change with Trump at the helm. They feel this is their best chance for peace lest another POS dem get in office.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Of course they will
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@MasterLee Most will not. But speaking for myself would be for covert operations but not direct military intervention.

IF...and I say IF...the Democrat/Socialist/Marxist/Progressive party is INSANE...then YES. So...I think I can safely come down on the side of YES.

@DogMan trump has nothing to do with it. You are older than me - you should know this will not bring peace to the middle east… of course we all (left and right) want to see Iran be a peaceful, democratic country. It’s just that some of us are realists.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@trollslayer Iran funds all the terrorist organizations in the region and abroad. It will bring more
peace than they have seen in a long time.

Trump will for sure get the Nobel for this. He and Israel started the process, and since the left
hates both, they will side with the brutal Iranian regime.

This is common sense.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@trollslayer You are talking to someone who obviously doesn't want the US to be a free democratic country. @DogMan

They have a knack at being on the wrong side of everything..
it’s an automatic stance..

Iran has never had a recognisably democratic government in the modern era. Just waves of western colonialists interfering in its politics and stealing its oil.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@SunshineGirl So you believe the current regime is the one to keep in place?

I heard the prince say they would elect a government. But most of all, they would not fund
terrorism around the world, and they would not spend all their money on nuclear weapons.

Isn't that a good thing?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@DogMan Democracy must come from within with no external interference or coercion.

If Trump could make a functioning and lasting democracy out of Iran he would certainly have heroical qualities.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@SunshineGirl couldn’t agree more.

@DogMan you live in a very simple world. We are not talking GI joe vs Cobra here…
DogMan · 61-69, M
@trollslayer Simple = Common sense
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@DogMan so what is the “common sense” here?
