@BrandNewMan If that was ever his intention, he has not been very successful. His pro-democracy initiatives have been banned in Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. He had to withdraw from Belarus after being fined by the government. His Central European University had to relocate from Budapest to Vienna after it was repeatedly attacked by the Hungarian government. $23.5m of money that he openly donated to progressive groups in 2003-4 failed to dislodge George W Bush.

Compare with Elon Musk who donated over $250m to Trump's successful election campaign and now wields direct influence over federal spending. The textbook definition of an oligarch.

As I have pointed out elsewhere on this post, the direct political donations Soros has made over the past three decades are a fraction of what Musk has made to Trump in the past year. They did not result in a change of government. And they certainly did not buy him the opportunity to eviscerate state regulators to his personal benefit as Musk has now done.

Have any of those other people you list been able to buy influence and favour to the same extent as Musk over the past year?

but Soros has been giving far more to Democrats over the years 22 billion total.

He has been helping get radical judges and DA's in place since Obama. ( very smart )

The influence and money is far more prevalent in the DNC. Trump is one of the few Presidents
that does not need money like your rank-and-file Democrats hoping to get rich in politics.
