Americans, I’m one of those foreigners who wish you would return to your pre 1960s stability. But what is it going to take?

You think we should be racially segregated again ? Is that the kind of pre-1960s "stability" you mean ? Because Jim Crow was a big part of what was going on back then. 😳

@bijouxbroussard No your don’t mean that. I mean an American before the republic democrat split that dominates everything now.
@WintaTheAngle Probably more from the mid 80s on. The Reagan years.

@bijouxbroussard Yes maybe so. Reganwas a strong but moral leader, or atleast it seemed to that way.
@WintaTheAngle He’s painted that way, but he had his share of flubs, like the Iran/Contra scandal.

@WintaTheAngle you have to be kidding, or ill informed. He fired air traffic controllers, he got the US involved in Iran/Contra, look up what he did. From his presidency on, the country became more and more polarized.

@samueltyler2 It’s quite possible I know less than you. Reading what is in the news is no substitute for actually being there.

@WintaTheAngle I am not sure what your point is.
@WintaTheAngle You’re right, it’s really not. Similarly, I’ve read about the UK, have friends and family there, and have even been. But it’s not like living there and experiencing day to day life. And I remember when Margaret Thatcher, whom I suspect I wouldn’t have liked, was in office.
