Does Iran matter?

Israel says Iran wants to destroy it. This is being used as justification for military action and possible war, which could have devastating consequences. Iran lacks the capability to destroy Israel, so why doesn't Israel ignore Iran and leave it alone?

Israel will simply "Neutralize" Iran when America gives the word.. This is the trade off with the US over their (Israels) nuclear program. Israel takes out Iran and gives the US plausable deniability..Israel takes the international heat on that in exchange for weapons aid ongoing..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman let us hope not. that would turn on the stress on Russia who has vowed to support Iran.

@samueltyler2 Yes. The "MAD" doctrine has become history now. But Israel will do anything to survive and the middle east is far enough away from America not to concern most Americans unless its about the price of oil..😷
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@whowasthatmaskedman are you unaware that the US is currently the largest exporter of oil and that the oil is sold on the world market which sets the price? Wouldn't you expect any country to fight against its own annihilation? Just as the US is aiding Ukraine I think we all.onow the US will support Israel. That support is under strain because of the behavior of Israel's PM.

@samueltyler2 I am aware. And I am aware of the underlying economics of it. America exports so little (apart from food and military hardware) And oil is a finite resource, with oil companies pulling the levers on policy..It comes under the heading of "its complicated" because America still imports oil as well..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman overall the US is exporting more oil than any other country. It is called motivated, but, if we can get ourselves off of the fossil fuel standard, it gets a little easier. The fossil fuel companies still seem to run our economy.

@samueltyler2 Thats true..For a number of reasons. Not the least being political donations to both sides. But also because of their penetration into the direct hip pocket nerve of pretty much every American. The price of gas is a "talking point" that the oil companies dont want to lose hold of. Imagine if every car fueled itself for free off the panels on your roof, via a storage battery...Why thats "unamerican"😷

@whowasthatmaskedman absolutely! Is amazes me though, how effectively they have brainwashed so many.

@samueltyler2 I could go somewhere with how simple it is to brainwash Americans. But its unfair to some..In my opinion it has its roots in religion and the consumer society and the nexus. Now throw in PT Barnum..😷

@samueltyler2 “That support is under strain because of the behavior of Israel's PM.”

What is the behavior of Israel's PM, and why has it strained America's support of Israel? Israel and USA are best friends. Israel is full of American Jews, and American Jews love to visit Israel. USA has allowed Israel to kill thousands of civilians in Gaza.
