So many lives are taken by the arbitrary determination of good and evil. If you can denounce someone as evil then you can take away their worth. If they have no worth then you can kill them. You just decide that you're the goodies and they're the baddies. Religions are particularly good at this.

An NHS worker has shown public support for the actions of Hamas on social media, going on to say that "there are no civilians in Israel", inferring that every Israeli is guilty by association and is a legitimate target. This is exactly the kind of thing that I'm referring to.
