Has there ever been a product that you previously swore you would never buy but eventually did because times are tough?

In this age of tariffs and bleak uncertainty, I resorted to buying used underwear and used chewing gum. Thankfully I did get a free trial of Amazon Prime so that I didn't have to reach the $35 mark for free shipping. Some generic soap and crackers on sale were added to my order for a feeling of completeness.

So I guess in my case I didn't previously swear that I wouldn't buy 2 such previous items used, because it didn't ever cross my mind to begin with.

I always thought used underwear are more expensive in 2024 than the new ones. Fetish people. But I am guessing inflation is causing things to change.
@being That could be a great way for a hot celebrity or model to make some extra cash! But most of the time its from some random faceless seller.

You can buy the flavor packs to make the gum taste almost like new!
@GerOttman If the flavor packs were basically powder I could buy in bulk, maybe that would be a good investment for someone who must buy used gum.

@familyfunguy you could then cut the flavor powder with heroin and sell it at a handsome profit!
No, and that no is permanent
