Still think the President doesn't affect gas prices???

Poll - Total Votes: 12
This makes sense why gas prices started to rise on inauguration day
I don't care. It's still not his fault

Adopting new EPA oil and gas rules

In November 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency announced new regulations governing methane emissions from oil and gas production, transmission, storage, and distribution that would cost more than $1 billion a year.

Last spring, Biden signed a resolution that overturned Trump administration reforms to EPA oil and gas rules. This resolution will worsen energy poverty, reestablish burdensome regulations, and have a disproportionate impact on small businesses.

One of Biden’s first actions after taking office was to halt new oil and gas leases on federal lands and waters, the Biden administration has delayed decisions on these leases — a move that results in higher energy costs for the most vulnerable consumers.

iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Dainbramadge gas has been going up in canada before Ukraine. How did Joe Biden do that?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 don't you get it?! It's done by our God, THE INVISIBLE HAND. ALL HAIL TO HIM, MAY HIS GOLDEN FLUIDS TRICKLE DOWN!

anyone that's been around long enough (and isn't braindead as biden) notices the trend...

anytime a Republican is in office, they blame absolutely everything on him

when a democrap is in office, they say "oh, well, he doesn't control that, so its not his fault"...
Americans are more than willing to pay thousands of dollars for health care, but draw the line at paying a buck more for gasoline. 🙄
@Roadsterrider Probably single payer medicare expansion. Pay for it by taking 5-7% of peoples income to fund it.
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@independentone 5 to 7%, I am sure you mean another 5 to 7%. There are about 64 million people on Medicare, Medicare costs the US government $776 billion, to cover 330 million people under Medicare the total cost would be roughly 5 times $776 billion. That comes out to be $3.9 trillion. The total revenue of the government in 2020 was $3.4 trillion, so to cover everyone with Medicare, it would take every cent going into the government coffers and we would still have to come up with another $500 billion to cover the cost of the program. That also leaves nothing for infrastructure, nothing for defense, nothing for welfare programs, unless taxes on working people were doubled at least. Talk to anyone in the medical professions, ask why doctors don't like taking Medicare patients. Medicare isn't very good insurance, if you don't also get a part B plan you are screwed if any major health issues come up. To increase taxes in this country would drive inflation through the roof. Right now, Medicare is 3%, half paid by the employee and half paid by the employer. Everyone who works pays this tax, 3% wouldn't cut it if 250 million people were added to the rolls.
@Roadsterrider The rest of the civilized world seems to make it work for them though. The US has the most expensive health care in the world, and one of the worst in terms of care in the world.
It’s true that when the price of oil rises, oil companies make more money. However, producing companies don’t set the price of oil, the free global market does.
And then, a quantum fluctuation occurred, taking him back in time a few minutes, and then he wrote this post, that he had previously responded to.

So, do you, in your own words, understand how the President does NOT set oil prices? When in doubt, ask the other guy you share a brain with. 🤣😂
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Northwest I wish I were more like you and believed the gas hike to be pure coincidence.

@Dainbramadge
I wish I were more like you and believed the gas hike to be pure coincidence.
This is not a trick. I simply used YOUR OWN WORDS. So, make up your mind.
Well we have our own resources. He cut the pipeline deal. That's how🤔
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Spoiledbrat There are three main factors that commodities traders look at when developing the bids that influence oil prices. These are the current supply, future supply, and expected demand.
The pipeline deal was all about future supply among a few others.
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@Dainbramadge So, did shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline that would have brought 800,000 barrels a day from Canada impact the futures market? It seems to me that futures in oil would have been lower expecting the market to have an additional 800k barrels of oil in the market shortly. Biden shut it down on day one in office. Day 2 saw increases in oil prices. "Joe did that."
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Roadsterrider Yeah that was what I was trying to show here with the two things I quoted.
The president makes life hard on oil and Stock holders then make life hard on everyone else.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
Either they don't know anything about Economics or they will hate to admit and calls anyone names is a result of Childish
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@FreestyleArt For the people that think The Joe you know had nothing to do with it, I have made a few searches for them. :-)
Lostpoet · M
They are trying to push their agenda on cleaner energy resources.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Lostpoet Yup.
This carbon pricing policy statement, issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in April 2021, is a blanket endorsement of top-down policies that have been demonstrated to be costly, ineffective, regressive, and consistently rejected by the American people.

How's he done it here in UK ?
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M

That's what's wrong in the U.K.

JohnOinger · 41-45, M
Okay, genius. Now tell me why gas prices are rising in the UK, Canada, and Australia?
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire I did in another comment.
