I reckon those who take ayn rands "philosophy " seriously, are those who think selfishness and greed are virtues

It's not very different from the marijuana addicts that try to claim if everyone smokes it then there would be world peace because no one would care to go to war. It's just building a fictional setting where the world works better if everyone shares their vice as a way to turn their vice into virtue, as you've stated. I think the potheads might be closer to realism than the greedy though.
