Should we ban?

American history that this great country? We can always add to history and keep the country's history that is already acknowledged. Together it would accurately depict the true history of the American culture instead of only showing one part of history.

If we only teach students the part of history that glamorizes our county, it’s no longer a history class. It’s propaganda..
specman · 51-55, M
@Quetzalcoatlus No keep the name America. It sounds like you might be anti-America.
If you live here it would be best for you to move.
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
@specman Ya I’m for keeping America in the name of the class just add propaganda. We should be teaching actual American history not just the stuff that makes you feel good.
specman · 51-55, M
@Quetzalcoatlus age appropriate. No additional name on America .

History has always been written by the victors. We don't hear the history of all the people conquered by the mongols or the history of the people conquered by the Romans or the Egyptians.

What is important is to remember the history of things that go horribly wrong No matter how many times socialism has been tried. It always has and always will fail. With too much power comes greed. Take for example all of our politicians who have been in the senate or Congress for more than 10 years. They are no longer there to serve but feel like they are entitled.

Socialism continues to fail because of greed. And the only place social history programs work is in very miniscule populations That are homogeneous to each other Take for example Norway Finland And other countries that the entire population is similar not extremely diverse.

@Gloomy Words have meanings and just because you've changed what's your definition of the word is in the last 20 years doesn't mean that that word truly has changed its definition
Gloomy · F
@dale74 Social cohesion hasn't been redefined what are you on about? Also there are other languages and it directly translates to social connectedness.
Why ban the truth?
Can you rephrase the question in English?
@specman If you're a Fascist, I can understand that. But don't pretend you oppose mass government censorship.
specman · 51-55, M
@BohemianBoo I don’t censoring has only been by the mainstream media that leans to the left. They only scrutinize the right digging at what will make the right look like the bad guys. They give no media coverage on anything good the right does. That’s why you don’t hear about the good that they do good. The only places that you can hear about the good is by reading a right leaning media outlet. Ex. All of the coverage of the Trump cases . They might give a little if any coverage to a threat to national security involving the investigation of their democratic president and his family. Another thing or person they do no coverage on is Hunter Biden. They protect the democrats and support anyone that leans left. Hell, I bet the majority of Americans don’t know about the Biden investigation, not to mention the IRS investigation.

No.
It's a bad idea all around, and anyway it's impossible. Mankind is an historical animal.
Gloomy · F
Yea just teach and discuss history and maybe examine it more critically. Just focusing on glamorised parts that are being used for propaganda purposes won't cut it and please stop emphasising how great your country is.... it's just collective narcissism and nationalism.
chrisCA · M
That would be great.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
I don't see anyone wanting to ban the history being taught in the schools. Only efforts to add the history of those who have been ignored before and ban any critique of the whitewashed history that has been taught before.
Im not sure what you are trying to ask but hiding accurate history is dishonest
