It was Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette stadium, who told Sheeran that Macklemore was banned from further acts, not just in that stadium but in a several others that several other billionaires owned.
All the opening acts, and Sheeran's own band, have quit the tour in protest. That's not a decision by tour promoters to censor Macklemore, that's the tour itself signalling clearly they do not support the censorship.

@AdmiralPrune nope. Just think. Macklemore has been vocally pro Palestine for years, and Sheeran would have known that. Not to mention he is Irish, along with most of the band who quit, and anyone who has a clue would have known the Irish have made it a national point of pride in supporting Palestine. Maybe if Kraft, who is on the Epstein list btw, hadn't tried to censor him, there's wouldn't have been such a huge public reaction. Your line of argument is essentially saying censorship of a genocide is worth it to keep the feelgood vibes of a concert. Maybe, a lot of Germans probably agreed a few decades ago
