Right now this is the best outcome for Russia. So EU countries supporting Ukraine want China to keep buying Iranian oil and not Russian oil. Also EU might not want a global recession. If the middle east can't supply the world with oil, the will be hard times across the globe.

No clue if either of those are reasons enough to join Trump. I suspect not.
