Democrats flip Texas seat that's been republican for 35 years

I know that others are talking about but just had to say something, this is good.

Ok let's be clear here on this. This is the Texas state Senate 9th district, Forte Worth area.

Not the federal congressional (house) 9th district, Houston area.

This wil not affect the federal Congress. House or Senate.

BTW the federal congressional 9th district was already democratic. Democrat Al Green.

It is impressive mostly because Forte Worth area is deeply red. Yet it pertains only to the state. Not the federal government.

Texas's 18th Congressional District finally has a representative, even if only until November. Wheels Abbott refused to appoint a representative after the previous one died. There is now one more D in Congress shrinking the R majority.

Taylor Rehmet beat a trump "approved" R known for the usual culture war BS. That state senate seat has been R since Bill Meier changed parties in the early 80s.

Gerrymandering and rural areas are the only things keeping Texas red.

This represents a 34 point swing in a solid red district in a solid red state. I suspect there are a lot of nervous Republicans in Congress today.

@MoveAlong Trump been saying stuff like trying to get the voting machines in state and redrawing district lines. He's been saying other stuff. He didn't say is because he's afraid democrats are taking seats but it's heavily implied

@SatanBurger That's exactly what it's about. Unless he can cancel the election entirely the results are going to be so overwhelmingly blue that he can't do enough damage to change it.

@KimberKimKim I don't think Democrats will flip the whole state until they undo the anti-voting laws. But they will definitely flip a few more seats as long as Trump is around.

Seems like a lot of work to go through just to kick MAGA out of government. Why not just have another Insurrection where this time the Dems take America back? The whole thing could be over in one weekend just like how the last Insurrection ended while succeeding!
