It was pretty nice. I just enjoyed the good weather all afternoon with my kids.
Bibipat · F
@senghenydd Everything as return to normal.
senghenydd · M
@Bibipat So pleased to hear that have a nice day what's left of it.
SW-User
@Bibipat “It was pretty nice. I just enjoyed the good weather all afternoon with my kids.”

This is how it should be. I am glad you did not panic and enjoyed your family; you care about what matters.

senghenydd · M
I heard on the news this Outage has been blamed on a Weather Phenomenon, I guess the wind stopped and the clouds became grey indeed a Phenomenon for Spain and Portugal.

We are moving to renewable energy, outages will become more common we must prepare for this in the future.
SW-User
@ineedadrink They do have a mix, although it is causing Spain problems. Wind turbines need to be started by electric grid and controlled by the grid. They require maintenance and could not exist without electricity. Their connection is not only one of the turbine providing electricity to the grid.

If people want to keep their phones and social medias, they will not be able to rely on green energy. Going green will be a nightmare for the west.
senghenydd · M
@ineedadrink Without that mix, our energy supplies in-future will be unreliable, a number of my neighbours are relying on Kidney machines every two days running them in their homes without a reliable electricity that'll be a problem.
senghenydd · M
@SW-User I've put my self in a better position than most I have what can only be called some off-grid power supply and it wouldn't affect me that much, I saw this coming.
come2gether · 46-50, M
Apparently you're not aware that in the west, our very lives run on electricity. We can't work, we can't cook, in some cases can't even get to work. When the grid goes down, life as we know it stops.

Our food spoils, and we can't go to the store because they aren't open because there is no electricity. And then everyone misses a paycheck, and that makes everything even worse
SW-User
@come2gether I don't understand it. My family still uses a horse and cart to get around, and they have no electricity. Do you think southern Russia will become advanced like USA?
come2gether · 46-50, M
@SW-User not in this lifetime. Russia has a long history of neglecting their people.

There are pretty much no houses in America without electricity
SW-User
@come2gether I was joking. My grandparents did not have electricity or cars as children or young adults. My grandfather told me he had to wear the same pair of shoes into his teenage years. He said he outgrew them, but had nothing else. His height is 6'0 and he has a big shoe size. I don't know how he managed.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Lots of accusations flying around from poor grid management leading to substation burnout, to regional 'terrorism', to power companies hitting government run organisations with excessively high charges leading to same governments prioritising feed to hospitals and other favoured institutions before anybody else.
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
I would find this situation very scary .
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
@SW-User everything went down at once, even security measures. Criminals be lurking
SW-User
@tobynshorty It has created pandemoniumand the media is all over it. How can this be an accident?
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
@SW-User it was probably not an accident. Imo.
Emiliya you wouldn't know what to do if your internet gave out for one afternoon lol
@SW-User wtf. I mean you're addicted to victim blaming.
SW-User
@SinlessOnslaught Do you have the names of any appropriate rehabs? What can I do for my addiction?

Things are rarely black and white, except when we consider the commands from God. How nice would the world be if we did this? But Jesus, even he wasn't perfect and learned through his suffering. God muddied it for us when he came up with free will, causing weakness in the angels and in the human. Like the angels, some of us can tread the right path, and some of us cannot. There always has to be an adversarial circumstance or an enemy, a struggle.
@SW-User Please tell me how that comes back to you making this post.
The state can destroy your life with the flick of a switch. Do you remember when they destroyed it over a mild virus?

No, nor do you.

CoViD-19 killed a lot of people worldwide.
Be glad you didn't have a genetic weakness for it.
SW-User
@SomeMichGuy Do you have genetic weakness for it?
@SW-User I don't know. They haven't identified the marker(s) which made people your age die without any obvious weakness/condition to increase susceptibility.

I got one of the most effective vaccines ever made, and I was glad we could use our knowledge of genetics to do this.
Cappuccino and beer machines offline, its a crisis.
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
It could be in the followings.

A. Green Energy is taking over.
B. Cyber Attack.
C. Solar Flares from the sun that's been acting strange.
SW-User
@FreestyleArt Green energy was likely the cause if this were not a planned event.
Achelois · F
Someone turned it off at the switch!

That’s how they work these days.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
Don’t forget to charge your electric car
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
Where are the windmills
SW-User
@Patriot96 Wind turbines need power to operate, and all electricity was gone. It was gone in seconds across Spain, Portugal, and other parts of Iberia.
@SW-User Pretty sure a wind turbine makes electricity from wind, it doesn't need it to operate. :)
MethDozer · M
@JamesBugman Depends on the type of generator being turned. Generators can be either self-exciting or passive-exciting. A self exciting ac generator starts producing as soon as it spins as it stores some residual energy in flux. A passive generator needs external power to create a flux state in order to start generating. That's why in many vehicles the alternator won't charge a completely dead battery, many of them need some power supplies to them initially when they start spinning to generate current
Anniedlr · 26-30, F
Have you tried running trains and cars on candles 😂😂
SW-User
@Anniedlr I have legs, nice long legs, that I can use to walk. The human body can take more than you think. We are a machine built by God, whose fate has been determined God. We may as well see where our legs take us.
