“Crisis” in Spain and Portugal

What is going in Spain and Portugal? Was this an experiment to see how westerners cope without electricity for a few hours? Are they getting them prepared for worse? Why can people deal with it in South Africa but not in Spain and Portugal? Have they never heard of candles? Do they not read books? Can they not go without for more than one day?

Apparently you're not aware that in the west, our very lives run on electricity. We can't work, we can't cook, in some cases can't even get to work. When the grid goes down, life as we know it stops.

Our food spoils, and we can't go to the store because they aren't open because there is no electricity. And then everyone misses a paycheck, and that makes everything even worse

@come2gether Does this mean you would die without electricity? Why? You would have no phone and no SW, but you would be able to live. You would still have the lightness of the day and could use fire to cook, animals for travel, and your own hands for labor. We consumed meats, dairy, and vegetables before electricity.

The state can destroy your life with the flick of a switch. Do you remember when they destroyed it over a mild virus? This is sad; it will happen again. This is only the beginning.

@SW-User lol! Animals for travel. Um no, that's not an option here. And starting a fire isn't either for most people. You don't understand how we live

@come2gether What about the Amish?

@SW-User that's a tiny, tiny segment, and even many of them are using electricity now

@come2gether I don't understand it. My family still uses a horse and cart to get around, and they have no electricity. Do you think southern Russia will become advanced like USA?

@SW-User not in this lifetime. Russia has a long history of neglecting their people.

There are pretty much no houses in America without electricity

@come2gether I was joking. My grandparents did not have electricity or cars as children or young adults. My grandfather told me he had to wear the same pair of shoes into his teenage years. He said he outgrew them, but had nothing else. His height is 6'0 and he has a big shoe size. I don't know how he managed.
