Well, you need to be a team player and you need to know how to productively ask for what you want in collaborative terms. It may come as a surprise, but I'm not the best at confronting situations like this, but I do know you need to suggest what you want, provide a winning argument of how it will benefit your employer, and then be prepared to negotiate. So, next time prepare in advance.
