They do that in other countries. I know for a fact. I have been stopped in cars in the Middle East and had to produce papers. A country has a right to protect its borders. Even as a US citizen I always travel with my US passport. Yes even in the United States. I don’t have a problem proving who I am and where I’m from! No one should if they don’t have anything to hide.

If they're carrying state issued ID's, DL's, etc. then they have nothing to worry about; It's not like ICE is going to start raiding reservations...
