Looking selfishly about how YOU be best off personally and for your family economically and optimistically at the future. Also please explain your reasoning by listing the positives of your choice without any negative bashing. Thank you for your participation

Trump because he did a helluva job. Life was easier for Americans. World peace was pretty good too.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@HoraceGreenley Nobody cares??
81 million people cared enough to vote that lying sack of corruption & incompetence out of office🤣😂🤣😂

Oh, right, go ahead and tell us how you believe believe the Dems masterminded a plot to fake millions of ballots for thousands of jurisdictions, sneak them into hundreds of counting centers, evading tens of thousands of watchful eyes, and not slip up once. Also that the Dems forgot to cheat downballot and control the Senate overwhelmingly. Plus, you believe the Dems are not competent to run a lemonade stand. No, I can't explain your cognitive dissonance.

No contest, Trump. He is 100% for America first, as it should be. He cannot be bought, and tells the truth, whether people want to hear it or not. The other world leaders respected him, and started no wars while he was in power. And the economy under Trump speaks for itself.

I am presently in the 24% tax bracket. Things get tight at times, but I am able to largely live comfortably and also assist struggling family members from time to time.

Being a disabled person with a high likelihood of having my condition worsening to force early retirement and potentially a reliance on Social Security Disability, my economic calculus is a bit murky due to not being able to predict if or when that situation might arise.

Electing more right-wing people who would gut 'entitlements' to reduce taxes now would probably not save me a whole lot. Though what I do save could go into retirement and hopefully become a compounding asset. But then I also have to worry about broader market performance, which could be way up or way down when my time comes to need it.

Electing more left-wing people are likely to preserve or perhaps even strengthen the so called 'entitlements' programs at the cost of some higher taxes in the present. My benefits are going to be more certain, but assuring the stability of those payouts could mean missing a market boom or a prolonged inflationary spike.

If I am being selfish and only considering how I myself am best off personally, I am going to go with the left-wing route. My ceiling is a lot lower, but the floor is more stable. And for me, peace of mind is worth its weight in gold.

However, if I did wish to play fortune teller and try to predict how policy would move markets, I would also pick left-wing. Right wing policy is great for supercharging economies in the short term, but that often comes at the cost of long term stability. I greatly favor long term stability over short term boom and bust cycles.

Biden is actually a strong contender on that list. Which is not something I expected to say 4 years ago. Biden himself has been better than I expected in a lot of areas but still misses here and there. The administration he has chosen to surround himself with has largely been stellar. One of my bigger economic fears for the future is corporations running away with too much power, and Biden's FTC is the first one actively doing its job in challenging M&A since I've been of voting age, at least.

From an economic best situation for the long term economic stability of myself and my family, I do believe Biden is currently the best choice. I would love to go harder left with someone like West because I am far left of Biden myself. However, I understand math and momentum, and cutting direction too hard and too fast would be ugly and create a lot of pain. Biden's administration has been moving many things in a better direction. Maybe not the way I want to go, but far better than we've been going. It's going to take time to see all of those results though. And I worry about all of it being undone if he loses the next election.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@ViciDraco The cost of current entitlements and the cost of servicing the debt will result in either massive inflation or means testing or a wholesale reduction of entitlements. There must be give somewhere. We, like most western countries, are tapped out. Democrats and RINOs got us into this mess. It's time to elect adults instead of Democrats.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@IronHamster Honestly, Reaganomics and the trickle down economic theory got us here. Borrowing from paid for entitlements to fund other programs instead of appropriately adjusting the tax code got us here. Somehow we're the wealthiest nation in the world with a top rank productive workforce and at the same time we are unable to afford programs most of the world has very little issue with.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@ViciDraco It was under Clinton that Social Security was taxed, but LBJ was the guy that created the vote plantation, destroying both the budget and the black family.
Theyitis · 36-40, M
Cornel West. He’s a really smart guy, one of his positions that stood out to me was his intent to raise the federal minimum wage to $27/hour, and he would likely be the most progressive president in our nation’s history. Seeing as I live in Missouri and it’s already a foregone conclusion to whom we will be awarding our electoral votes I intend to vote for West; however, if my state were competitive I would vote for the Democratic nominee because I believe any Democrat would be much preferable to any Republican, especially Trump.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
So far Michelle Obama is third in the polling after Trump and then other. Jon Stewart has more votes than Biden 😂🤣😂
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@jackjjackson Jon Stewart would make a better President that Trump or Biden. As would Michelle Obama. But neither of them are stupid enough to want the job..😷
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Possibly the former once his name is spelled correctly. The latter has zero applicable experience and is almost as risky as the buffoon or the befuddled on. @whowasthatmaskedman
It would never happen, but Pete Buttigieg would do a fantastic job.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I don’t care for him because he doesn’t do his job. Worst train wrecks and airplane problems EVER under a transportation secretary. He was thrown a political bone and ate all of it and more. He will disappear after Biden is out of office and live the life of the wealthy. You know all that. @LeopoldBloom
@jackjjackson How is the transportation secretary responsible for that? If that had happened under Elaine Chao, you'd be blaming "liberals" in those states or the companies themselves.

The DOT is responsible for enforcing the laws and regulations Congress passes. They can only do this with sufficient staff and funding. Buttigieg is dealing with the fallout of four years of the Trump administration allowing the transportation infrastructure to deteriorate, followed by the supply chain disruptions caused by COVID.

I agree that Buttigieg's career is over after this. He's from Indiana, a conservative state that will never elect a Democrat as governor or senator. Anywhere he relocates to at this point will view him as a carpetbagger. So he's probably looking at a career as a consultant, author and commentator like Robert Reich.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Lame excuses. He’s been a failure at everything except ripping off the taxpayers for personal gain. @LeopoldBloom
Bumbles · 51-55, M
As an outside choice, what do we think about Mark Cuban?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
How did Schiff get any votes much less 2?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
On this list, i chose Haley. Trump and Biden automatically eliminated due to age. Haley has appropriate experience seems intelligent enough, is actually running (meaning she has desire) and is less polarizing than most of the others.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Agreed. Also my number one choice. @trollslayer
What's best for me is what's best for our kids.

For them (early 20s), the left wing has a whole lot more to offer, such as better healthcare, infrastructure improvement, alternative energy sources, the right to abortion, and CO2 reduction.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Other. Doug Burgum, governor of ND.

Make a list of all the concerns you have for America and Doug is the only candidate to have risen above them all. Go watch a few of his Ted talks. An inspiring leader who transcends politics. Exactly what America needs now.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
He does make sense. Sadly not electable. @Heartlander
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@jackjjackson He likewise wasn't thought of as electable when he first ran as governor :)

His great strength is in inspiring leadership. The big difference between Trump and Burgum is that Trump is me-me-me and Burgum is us-us-us. 300+ million Atmericans together can accomplish so much more. As much as I enjoy Trump trashing Democrats in power, the greater need is to inspire the American people to take the high road.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Agreed. Haley will beat any dem. @Heartlander
IM5688 · 61-69, M
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@jackjjackson What gets me is how he simply ran away when his Constituents were suffering and dying, where he escaped to is kind of irrelevant but it might as well have been to Cuba and they could have kept him there too!
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@spjennifer That makes no sense, which makes it perfect coming from you.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@IronHamster What makes no sense to you, that Cancun Teddy ran away to Mexico when the State of Texas was in a deep freeze (for them) and many residents were without heat, power and potable water just 2 years ago, but hey only 246 of them died so it was no reason for Runaway Teddy to stay, right? 😵‍💫
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
I dont see it makes any real difference, as the Senate and Congress are both corrupted to the point of being non functional and anything thast does get through is tied up in the courts by most states..
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
Michelle Obama? Why? Because her husband was president? Smh
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
So do lots of people who want it. I’d prefer Oprah if we are going with the black female category. @LeopoldBloom
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@jackjjackson I’d be fine with Candace Owens. Speaks the truth and doesn’t buy that everyone’s a victim like the Dems want people to believe
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Another excellent choice! @Bill1372

@jshm2 Lol. Britain is a mere ghost of itself, unable to stop third world riffraff from voting in a backwater mayor for London or stopping psychotics from rioting. If the Brits embrace the Magna Carta and the right of all men to be armed, we might have something more in common than a language.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Out of 45 votes cast so far Biden has received 2 Michelle Obama Other 8 Trump 15. Baffling.
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@jackjjackson cause Biden sucks and is obviously senile
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Other and Michelle Obama are dramatically out polling Biden with other outpacing MO.
TheBannibalOne · 61-69, M
President Trump,if he makes a new party.
RFK JR.

You've got geriatric gits on that list, might as well vote for the dead guy with still more brains than anyone on that list.
