Guns are not the problem, stupid people are. I've used guns since I was little and have never shot anyone. Never seen anyone have a gun accident. Stupid people do stupid things.
@Amberswallows Asking for a friend..............when it was DEFINATELY proven that cigarettes caused cancer and it was smoking that was killing people of lung cancer...........did people say....."cigarettes are not the problem. Stupid people who smoke them is"?

When it was definitely proven what killed people and smoking was it..........no one had a problem saying "SMOKING IS THE PROBLEM" and that was banned...........but when thousands of people are killed with bullets each year........why is it wrong to say "GUNS ARE THE PROBLEM"?

Curious.

@Amberswallows No, it's the guns, it's the f**king guns!
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Amberswallows I have never hurt anyone with a nuclear weapon. Only stupid people use them wrong. Therefore, nuclear weapons are not an issue and should be available to people who can responsibly use them.

@Amberswallows Well said!!!
justanothername · 51-55, M
@Amberswallows Same old argument. If people don’t have guns they can’t shoot other people.

@Amberswallows
Guns are not the problem, stupid people are.
You sound like the comic character "Mr. Gotcha".

@anythingoes477 WTF are you talking about? Smoking wasn’t banned.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@anythingoes477 Wrong analogy because the cigarettes affect the smoker (yes i know about 2nd hand smoke)
A gun ONLY kills if the trigger is pulled and aimed at a person
@Amberswallows You haven't shot anyone YET. Until your party brainwashes you with fear and hate first. Then you will have to "defend" the "true patriots".
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@canusernamebemyusername That's the problem. Whatever tripe the Republicans churn out, @Amberswallows.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@Amberswallows It’s easier to get rid of guns than to ban stupid people from getting access to guns.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@justanothername Particularly as there are always more stupid people than one expects.
Baremine · 70-79, C
@CorvusBlackthorne yes there are they are called democrats.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Baremine Said the two losers who see intelligence and strength when they look at Donald Trump.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@Baremine The shooter at the Colorado Night Club was a 22 year old Republican.
RedBaron · M
@justanothername But thinking it's possible to get rid of guns is beyond naive, like thinking it's possible to get rid of alcohol, marijuana, or hallucinogenic drugs.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@Amberswallows all Americans are stupid there’s no intelligence in the schools
Baremine · 70-79, C
@justanothername and you know this how?????

@anythingoes477
.when it was DEFINATELY proven that cigarettes caused cancer and it was smoking that was killing people of lung cancer...........did people say....."cigarettes are not the problem. Stupid people who smoke them is"?

Yes, that's what people said.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@Budwick @anythingoes477 I do hate to admit it but Budwick is right, we did not play big government knows best and take peoples cigarettes away it was on them to not be stupid and keep smoking, still is.
rfatoday · 70-79, M
@badminton And when people die in drunk-driving crashes, it's the alcohol, right? Not the fault of the person who chose to drink it, right? So I assume you can make good choices regarding the consumption of alcohol. Yet, I will advocate for a ban on alcohol so people won't die on the road. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Oh, look. @rfatoday is using the false equivalency fallacy, comparing something that has a primary purpose of making people feel happy and sociable to something that has a primary purpose of making things dead.
SW-User
@Amberswallows try that logic with a nuclear winter ... oh well, can't ban nukes, nukes aren't the problem, just stupid people who might use them

Your check from the NRA is in the mail

By using the internet.

The suspect in a shooting at a Colorado LGBTQ nightclub this weekend has been identified as Anderson Lee Aldrich, who police say walked into Club Q in Colorado Springs and immediately opened fire, killing five people and injuring at least 19 others.

Aldrich, 22, faces five counts of first-degree murder and five counts of a bias-motivated crime causing bodily injury in connection to the shooting, according to an online docket in the El Paso County Courts.

The suspect was taken into police custody and was being treated at a hospital, police said, adding officers did not shoot at him. Aldrich remained hospitalized as of late Monday morning, when Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez said the suspect had not made any statements to police, despite their attempts to interview him for the investigation.
