Unfortunately, there is a subset who aren’t so kind and decent, though they wear that mask that they resent and now refer to as "political correctness". Recently that subset has stopped feeling the need to wear that affect, and now wear the faces they’ve worn in times past. Trump has made it acceptable to show those faces again. 😞

@bijouxbroussard I have travelled less than you, and I'm from the country rumoured to be more kind; I know when I have travelled how I have been treated, when asked my country, it likely means something, but I'm not travelled enough to really know. On an individual level, I don't know if travelling gives you in actual meaning of a person, such a brief glimpse - here, I have met many a wonderful American, including you, but some of what is focused on in politics, are really beyond me. And it seems like prehistoric in ethic.

@bijouxbroussard I completely agree that Trump made a lot of hateful things "acceptable" with some, but not the majority. The majority spoke, even in a struggling economy.
It's best we can face hate straight on.
I personally have never seen such crowded polling places during a mid-term election. That says a lot about what most people wanted.

When Trump started his initial campaign, he came down the stairs calling Mexicans 'rapists and murderers.' He was basically saying "I'm a racist and I'm running for president." Unfortunately, he was too well received.
This time, he's beginning his campaign with name calling and threats. Basically saying "I am a crude immature child and I am running for president." This time, I don't expect him to be so well received.

@GrinNude I am not so sure.. there is still a proportion of the US voting public who think he speaks for them...😷

I agree that the Americans I have met in America would be among the friendliest and most generous hearted people around.. And they love their country. But there is something that seems to give some a sense that just being born in the place makes then right, and entitled on the basis of what that great nation has done for the world. While some have taken the competitive nature of being number one at all costs to extremes.. I have had the good fortune not to meet any of them while there..😷

@JohnOinger No.. Nor Chicago. And I know why you ask...😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Just curious

@JohnOinger Actually, I've visited NYC a number of times. Driving in the city sucks, but walking and taking the subway are great. To see the best of New Yorkers, ask directions to somewhere. They'll compete with each other to show off their superior knowledge of their city!!

Fact overall. It fits with about 35% of the population tops, who live in self-created bubble. The nation overall is too diverse and complicated to swallow the BS that Trumpaholics shovel for long. Trump is like a cheap steak: it looks appetizing to begin with, but goes down poorly and eventually is crapped out. We're in the last stage now.

I wish I agreed with you but he still, and the GOP have a large following
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Trumpism largely took root because an economic collapse fostered hard times and bitterness and people wanted to find something to blame. The guy came in telling them it was okay to blame others. He fed the bitterness and took advantage of the despair.
That's not stuff that fosters longevity though.

You're too decent to fully characterize all Americans as globalist NWO shills

@scrood Is that the latest Q conspiracy making the rounds now?
