I know it’s hard for you to understand basic elements of reality but accusations are not facts and, as president, Trump had the unilateral power to declassify anything. Anything.

@whowasthatmaskedman Stand trial? You mean wait for proof and legal defense before coming to a conclusion? You know about such things? It’s hard to believe based on how you’ve convicted Trump based on rumor and innuendo.

@redredred
explain Obozo’s 30 million documents then
NARA made a presidential library, as is their legal duty.Explain Shitlerys “lost” emails and hammered cell phones
She did something stupid and had a private server, for which she was thoroughly investigated and found to have done nothing that rose to the level of meriting serious charges. You have no facts about those documents rumored to be in Trumps possession.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@redredred Not me. The only things I will say he is guilty of are cases he settled in matters of Discrimination, and Fraud to do with his businesses. (Such as Trump University.) For the record, I am happy to admit that most of Americas political leadership going back decades has probably committed some criminal act and should be prosecuted. But since the system is corrupt, thats probably not going to happen. In fact I regard Trumps case as SO extreme that the powers that be just cant ignore it. So they are likely to make an example of him.. And since he was such an @$$hole going back to his youth, I guess its about time. Once he is charged and convicted. And if he does skate on all this, I think the American public will feel entitled to rise up and show the leadership how a real coup works..
And for that reason alone I suspect he is toast..😷

What part of "The president has the authority to declassified information," don't liberals understand?
CNN doesn't decide what information should remain highly classified. USAG Garland doesn't either. As CNN and the liberal media continues to use the word "classified"... Continue to call the Raid on Mar-a-lago a simple "search," after previously calling it a raid. Obama, Bill Clinton and every other president has declassified information and taken it home. Hillary Clinton used her unsecured personal server to store highly classified information that could have put the lives of thousands of our soldiers in danger.

@ElwoodBlues You referring to the presumed presidental candidate michael avenatti? Whatever happened to the ole boy anyways?
ElwoodBlues · M
@sunsporter1649 You JUST pretended that Trump's 3 different stories about the Mar a Lago raid were fake news, didn't you? But you can't take it like you dish it out???
Oh, and what's your other favorite trick? You love to ignore the facts and change the subject. Does the name Michael Cohen ring a bell?
Does the name Allen Weisselberg ring a bell??
Does this phrase ring a bell??? “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
Dude, I can play your bulllshit games better than you can, ROTFL!!!
LOL, you meant to say pmsnbc said President Trump reportedly told three different stories
That was you TEN MINUTES AGO, dude!!!Oh, and what's your other favorite trick? You love to ignore the facts and change the subject. Does the name Michael Cohen ring a bell?

@ElwoodBlues Depending on the padlock in question, it might not even slow down a moderately adept amateur.

That’s all bull , what really happened is the FBI went in to retrieve the evidence that was found connecting the FBI to the Russia hoax.
If they had something on Trump he would have been charged already .
Nice try

The warrant mentions possible violations of the Espionage Act by Trump. The EA, from about 1917, specifically protects information relating to our national defense, the release of which could injure the US; regardless of classification level (it predates Truman's whole classification system by 34 years).
How do we know if a document relates to our national defense and the release of which might injure the US? Ultimately a court would have to decide, but a GREAT BIG CLUE is if the military had classified it Top Secret SCI.
You see, declassifying doesn't alter the injury release of said information could do, it only alters the laws under which Trump might be charged. In closing, let me remind you of a major Trump campaign promise:
NYT reports Trump lawyer in June signed a statement saying classified material had been returned. Notice how, two months ago, Trumpland was referring to the documents as "classified"? If they were classified two months ago, Trump didn't declassify them when he had the chance.
where did you get the information that documents harmful to national defense

@dakotaviper They can take whatever is obviously illegal. They don't have to leave what is illegal behind. There is a problem with your wording. The FBI did not say they didn't take the passports. They said they were not in their possession after giving them back.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@dakotaviper I know Trump isn't very bright, but I would hope his attorneys are at least aware enough to not let him keep privileged documents at a fucking resort instead of the law firm office. But then, his last legal team held a conference at a landscaping company because they confused it with a fancy hotel, so who knows?

This thread (including the comments) may just take the cake for sketchy and unsupportable assertions about both facts and law, imo.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Its already happening. And the usual suspects are already trying to discredit the FBI on it. And the usual stupid people will believe and the beat goes on. But it doesnt matter. The people behind the Party have already decided to throw Trump under the bus. They know the mid terms are a disasternow, with the prospect of trying not to lose anything, rather than the gains a mis term always means. They may even lose ground in the Senate. In fact their best play is to lose Trump in a way that blames the Democrats, but means he cant come back and run as an Independent and split the republican vote. So I think all this suite Republicans just fine..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman And what else did the tooth fairy tell you?

@sunsporter1649 That your mother will need to put your rent up to pay the Utility bills. that Faraday cage you live in is costing a bomb to charge..😷
He sold secrets to the Russians. Russian TV confirmed this.

@WonderGirl1 As much as I dont like Trump, using Russian TV as evidence of his crimes is a bridge I wont cross.😷
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
No one, except the FBI/DOJ knows for sure what Trump took, but for sure stuff is missing because they knew what they were looking for. Whether Trump managed to flush, burn, shred a lot is unknown.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ChipmunkErnie Pretty much nothing classified will have originated with Trump.. and there will be lists of what was sent to him and what was returned. Knowing what he had or should have wouldnt be that hard.😷
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman The problem is evidently the DOJ knows what's missing, that Trump had it at one time, but where is it now? Flushed down the Toilets of Trumptown? In Russia? Plus, there is NO reason for the DOJ to expose the classified documents to the public -- they're classified.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ChipmunkErnie Agreed... Plus they have exhausted all of the polite steps to recover it, including subpeonas. So as I see itm the choice was to write it all off of raid him.😷
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
Of course they will, and they’ll believe every word they’re told. They already believe he’d have handed over the documents if the government had just asked…apparently a subpoena is just a weak suggestion and not an actual request/demand.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
And where did you get the information that secret documents about nuclear weapons were taken from President Trump's home during the raid?

Aren’t they saying the FBI planted evidence? They will never accept that he did anything wrong.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@ElwoodBlues The MAGA cult is saying the FBI planted evidence. Or that Trump can declassify material just by thinking about it. Someone in Trump's inner circle ratted him out. My guess is Kushner who may have turned state's evidence to save his own skin. Notice that Ivanka has been distancing herself from her father.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@Pitchblue We are all assuming that the target of the investigation is Trump. It could be someone else and the evidence just happened to be at Mar-a-Lago. It's also possible that the nuclear-related documents aren't even about the US arsenal - it could be another country, like Israel for example. The warrant isn't specific enough to tell, so we shouldn't jump to conclusions.
I mean, it probably is Trump and US nuclear intel but there's no way to be sure until the DOJ makes a statement.
