Did Ghislaine Maxwell sacrifice her power for comfort?

Having come from extreme wealth, an elite upbringing and of course having grown accustomed to that lifestyle, it seems Ms. Maxwell was keen on maintaining it after the untimely death of her father. It’s alleged her relationship with Epstein was one of convenience, in which she exchanged her proverbial rolodex that consisted of powerful, privileged personnel for access to a life of comfort. Ghislaine was reportedly a brilliant woman. If this is so, is it possible she sacrificed this personal power in pursuit of the prestige associated with being romantically attached to a wealthy man?

Some powerful (and wealthy) people achieve their power because of an ability to manipulate people. Sometimes it's a multi-generational trait that gets passed from parent to child by example or osmosis. Also, growing up with manipulating parents would gravitate one towards other manipulative people. It appeared that Ghislaine was a very skilled manipulator.
Caesar Caliguia was also "Powerful, brilliant, and privileged" He too became morally corrupt and cruel . Once satiated with too much of everything it seems the pursuit of spiritual evolution becomes dulled. There is no hunger for a higher purpose. Why? I haven't a clue but this has been the case historically over and over again.

Possibly, but her upbringing was not "elite".

Rich yes, but the daughter of a thoroughly nasty man - Robert Maxwell - who became a major thief as he tried to prop up his failing business ventures while keeping up his luxury-yacht lifestyle.*

That does not of course excuse her aiding and abetting Epstein, and the Courts evidently thought so too, despite her defence being mainly how badly she'd been treated by her father.

She's a loser...
When you think you're above others you treat everyone else like they're nothing.
Unfortunately she got what she deserves avd wanted.
She will have a a roof over her head, time to lounge and do f all all day.
Good brought to her.
Other women to chat to.
And the odd glance from a man.(prison officer)

If she's half as good as she was convincing those young girls, she'll get on rather well with those women inside.
You'll probably find they start plaiting each others hair and singing things like kumbiyah...
Or whatever...

What an earth are you on about? She is a peedo, child trafficer. She didnt sacrifice anything.....she was the front lady for a disgusting version of a honey trap. These ppl at the top are depraved parasites and more than likely chosen to have top jobs because they have been filmed on epstein island abusing children and other sick proclivities and can be controlled

If she was so wealthy and brilliant why didn’t she utilize that and do something for herself? Surely she got compensated in some way when the passing of her father?
@DeluxedEdition I wondered the same. She began a nonprofit and seemed to be quite capable in the way of charm and intelligence. It seems she could’ve certainly managed to provide a good quality of life for herself…even if it might no longer include access to a private jet.

@AnonymouslyYours that just shows you the extent to how evil she is. Instead of utilizing her resources: money, skill, and intellect she chose to take do the most evil thing possible and sell children to be raped by perverts
Crusher69 · 61-69, M
@AnonymouslyYours She never really had quite as much as the circles she travelled in - and always wanted more. She moved to America to try and build her network there.....
Maxwell became involved in a romantic relationship with a man who was an ephebophile. This meant that as a young adult she was already too old for his interests and as time went on, he lost any physical desire for her.

She pimped girls for him in order to remain in his life. The fact that she was willing to do this at all indicates something severely lacking in her makeup (we already know Epstein was a very sick man).

@bijouxbroussard my thoughts exactly.
She is indeed a master manipulator. And she was obsessed with, and manipulated by, a masters master.
I would like for her to rot.
I would also like for her to spill it.
I'm not certain which i would like more.
@Carla The fact that she came from wealth emphasizes the sickness of it. Had Epstein "rescued" her from impoverished circumstances and somehow she’d felt obligated it would’ve been a somewhat different situation, though no less vile.

Some people, I guess, just get used to that lifestyle, sweetie, and the fact that daddy was a certain type of person that stepped over people to get to where they felt they should be in the world. When you have that type of mentality, I guess, it doesn't take much to step out to further and further extremes.

Procuring underage girls for the wealthy and rubbing shoulders with other powerful people? Those individuals are just beans on a counter - not people/personalities - to them, sadly.

Power, generally, wants more power.

End result? She's a shitty human being.

As she "procured" women for Epstein for years, I do hope she gets a warm reception from her fellow inmates who came up on the other side of that life.😷

Do you actually care either way?

Just a shame that people forget what right from wrong is when money is in play
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
Like many persons in this world, she sacrificed her moral standards for comfort.
@CorvusBlackthorne Not quite to her extent. People may debase themselves, but they don’t always debase and exploit others.
