Did Ghislaine Maxwell sacrifice her power for comfort?

Having come from extreme wealth, an elite upbringing and of course having grown accustomed to that lifestyle, it seems Ms. Maxwell was keen on maintaining it after the untimely death of her father. It’s alleged her relationship with Epstein was one of convenience, in which she exchanged her proverbial rolodex that consisted of powerful, privileged personnel for access to a life of comfort. Ghislaine was reportedly a brilliant woman. If this is so, is it possible she sacrificed this personal power in pursuit of the prestige associated with being romantically attached to a wealthy man?

If she was so wealthy and brilliant why didn’t she utilize that and do something for herself? Surely she got compensated in some way when the passing of her father?
@DeluxedEdition I wondered the same. She began a nonprofit and seemed to be quite capable in the way of charm and intelligence. It seems she could’ve certainly managed to provide a good quality of life for herself…even if it might no longer include access to a private jet.

@AnonymouslyYours that just shows you the extent to how evil she is. Instead of utilizing her resources: money, skill, and intellect she chose to take do the most evil thing possible and sell children to be raped by perverts

@AnonymouslyYours She never really had quite as much as the circles she travelled in - and always wanted more. She moved to America to try and build her network there.....
