What did Trump give people to make them idolize him

Trump broke his biggest promises, but his base doesn't seem to care. Remember when Trump:

* Promised a tax cut that pays for itself;
* Promised to replace Obamacare with something better and cheaper that covers everyone;
* Promised a trillion dollars worth of infrastructure spending;
* Promised "We're going to see economic growth of 4, 5 & maybe 6%!";
* Promised to reduce deficit and eventually balance the budget;
* Promised to reduce prices of prescription drugs;
* Promised he had made the world safe from Kim Jong Un's missiles;
* Promised to LOCK HER UP!
* Promised to make Mexico pay for that wall;
* Promised to release his tax returns;
* Promised to cut the number of tax brackets, repeal the alternative minimum tax,eliminate the carried interest loophole, and allow individuals to deduct health care insurance premiums from taxes.

That's several trillion dollars worth of broken promises there, LOL!!

Lots, imo.

First off, there's them: someone else to blame.

The rest feeds off that, mostly.

Trump simplifies everything, eliminating the need for independent thinking. Just "believe him" as he repeatedly said during his campaign, makes things really easy and comfortable.

Imo, its harder to figure out why lying to his base doesn't lose followers, but my guess is, they think, even if he's a liar, he's my liar, and they have a special connection with him, with a liberal dose of Robin Hood syndrome thrown in.

Remember McCain's Maverick pitch?

He toyed with it, but most of the time, he shied away from actually attacking institutions and gave credence to ideas like the common good that are both dangerous to big donors and suspect to populist/wannabe millionaire/criminals.

To boot, the fact that Trump has no principles other than himself seems to be just wildly appealing to people who feel held back by conventional moral principles like the golden rule.

Hatred, Racism, Fascism, misogyny, injustice, and a happy meal.

The gullible are generous with unearned trust.

Dude, don’t ask that. Republicans have made a list that’s almost a damn mile long of his accomplishments. Most of them are things you’ve never heard of before. Some of them are non-controversial things you could probably get behind if they’re actually true. Some of them are really stupid things like “appointed judges”. Like seriously, most other presidents don’t appoint judges, do they? But you can guarantee every little thing he did other than play golf a lot is on that list, and probably some things he actually didn’t do too. It’s extremely nauseating. You should probably delete this post before someone comments with it.

Happens on both sides- dems do it too.

anti-lgbqt
anti-immigrant
etc

It makes their disease feel safer.
