What did Trump give people to make them idolize him

Did he keep any of his promises, the wall, better cheaper medical insurance, etc. Does it even matter? His fans gave him millions of dollars to fight the outcome of the election. He didn't use a penny of the money for that. His fans even made one time donations and Trump Org signed them up for monthly payments. He's lying and stealing from his base but does any of it matter? What does Trump give his base?

What does Trump give his base?
Lots, imo.

First off, there's them: someone else to blame.

The rest feeds off that, mostly.

Trump simplifies everything, eliminating the need for independent thinking. Just "believe him" as he repeatedly said during his campaign, makes things really easy and comfortable.

Imo, its harder to figure out why lying to his base doesn't lose followers, but my guess is, they think, even if he's a liar, he's my liar, and they have a special connection with him, with a liberal dose of Robin Hood syndrome thrown in.

Remember McCain's Maverick pitch?

He toyed with it, but most of the time, he shied away from actually attacking institutions and gave credence to ideas like the common good that are both dangerous to big donors and suspect to populist/wannabe millionaire/criminals.

To boot, the fact that Trump has no principles other than himself seems to be just wildly appealing to people who feel held back by conventional moral principles like the golden rule.
@MistyCee A lot of his GQP base would love to be like him. The lies, rape charges, misogyny, bigotry never stick to him. BUT the one thing he gave them was the ability to be openly racist. He said, You are better than the immigrants. Look at these Black and Brown people, You are better than they are. They didn't need anything else.

@Pitchblue Enjoy your new neighbors.

@sunsporter1649 They told Sporty to be afraid and he was. There was no amount of reason, common sense that could take that fear away.
