@samueltyler2 Yes, but US got tested in Afghanistan by China as well as Russia on how long could one survive.

@TheOrionbeltseeker what is your point? The US should never have gone into Afghanistan when it did, that was the mistake made by a POTUS who either by himself, or pressure from an advisor, decided er could do something no other invader has ever been able to do in that country. Afghanistan has always been the graveyard of empires. We spent fortunes of our dollars, and lost thousands of lives to gain very little advantage.

And let's not forget the Soviet Army invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 that lasted until 1989 which resulted in the withdrawal of Soviet forces and an Afghan mujaheddin victory.
