@Unefilletrescurieuse

I just repaired the fridge water line
@ least that wasnt in the wall
most fo the water was in the basement
but still a pain in my ass
@pdockal Yes, frozen pipes can be big trouble and costly.
pdockal · 56-60, M

No...I live in the Pacific Northwest. But I am seeing those familiar pics of empty shelves at the grocery store. Stay warm, and safe...and be especially careful in those areas projected to get ice.
@BizSuitStacy yeah I went early yesterday and the shelves still had plenty here except most all water was gone. However by evening, I imagine shelves began to look bare.

Definitely now it's a matter of how much we get. It's not going to go above freezing for at least 8 days after. It looks like it's going to impede the ability to get out for some time. I can't shovel that stuff anymore. We haven't had one like they are predicting for quite a while.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Unefilletrescurieuse I will. We had a surprise 14 hour outage during our first below freezing cold snap. Time goes real slow when you can't get up without freezing.
@Gibbon I’m sure my friend. 🤗

We're having the first hard freeze of the winter in central Texas. They say the grid's ready for it, we're ready just in case.
Probably a lot of traffic accidents, it's a thing once, maybe twice a year, and they can't figure out how to drive right on it.
@WillieT I understand that. Every time we have ice, someone dies trying to drive on it. People always die when it’s a bad winter storm.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
It’s about to start here, sleet and winter mix today and heavy snow for up to 2 days. Bitter cold, forecast to stay below freezing for a week.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Unefilletrescurieuse that family had a gas stove and had run out of fuel. I can’t even imagine why they didn’t stay on top of it. They had some wood burning in a fireplace to heat their rather large home. If I was going to build a home in Alaska like they did I’d have a chimney and a wood-burning stove inside of it or maybe two stoves in different areas of the home. With something to circulate the air. Fortunately they found someone with fuel in his truck and he delivered enough to get them through that extreme cold spell.
@cherokeepatti oh wow… nothing like the heat of a wood heater… 🙂
ron122 · 41-45, M
@cherokeepatti Stay safe and warm.
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
Not so much. It's freaking cold, but the snow is fairly much done, I think.

Other than that my dog and the vehicles really hate the temperature, it'll be fine.

I'm just a little whiny.
@FrozenWasteland You can be Whiny if you want. I hate bad weather!
12-18 inches comin Sunday into Monday. husbands staff is rescheduling Monday appointments
@saragoodtimes Just snow?
Teslin · M
Sunday into Monday. Will just need to be sure to dig my mom out.
Besides myself of course.
@Teslin Yes, take care of mom!
Teslin · M
@Unefilletrescurieuse I try, she's a tough one LOL
@Teslin I believe I know a bit about that with my own mom.
ron122 · 41-45, M
No ice or snow here but you stay safe and warm.
@ron122 we expect it here around midnight tomorrow night. They’ve changed the time twice pushing it up a few hours… 🙂
@ron122 and thank you…
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
It's supposed to land right on top of me but I don't know how much it will affect me.
@Nitedoc Be safe… and stay warm!
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@Nitedoc 👍
Ambersky · 51-55, F
Sunday night and through Monday…
@Ambersky They keep pushing our time forward. Now ours will start tomorrow night at midnight and go through Monday as well.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Kansas city is cold and 5-8 inches of snow.
James1956 · 61-69, M
8 - 12 inches predicted in my forecast
@James1956 wow just snow? Ours will be ice.
James1956 · 61-69, M
@Unefilletrescurieuse

It was ice here at first but apparently the storm shifted direction.
@James1956 I see. 🙂
Rokan · 36-40, M
Snow isnt a big deal for me but no i wont see any snow.
@Rokan Gonna try. I have propane logs too and they will help a bit but certainly not as much as when I have electricity allowing the fan to blow the heat out into the house. 🙂
Rokan · 36-40, M
@Unefilletrescurieuse drink warm liquids too helps keep core temp up.
@Rokan absolutely
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Yes they declared a winter emergency
@FreeSpirit1 PS Love that Eskimo coat! Lol
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Unefilletrescurieuse in my home office in Massachusetts
@FreeSpirit1 ohhh Massachusetts… that explains it all. I love that Eskimo coat you are sporting in your pfp. 😍
CaliCanadianAngela · 41-45, F
In Southern California we just ask, “what’s snow?”
@CaliCanadianAngela Nice! I have seen enough of it. Snow is beautiful but I’d be ok if o never saw any more. But what’s worse is ice… we are predicted to have sleet over 24 hours.
scorpiolovedeep · 51-55, M
No....waiting for the Australian long weekend heatwave.
@scorpiolovedeep I’m sweating just hearing about that! Lol 🥵
Raleigh is gonna be under a block of ice. should be fun. 😂
@MayorOfCrushtown Yeah.. that’s what my weather forecast is; Sleet, rain and freezing here starting late afternoon or evening tomorrow. Widespread power outage and long lasting predicted. That’s the part (long lasting that bothers me.”) If only it was snow…instead of rain and ice. 🥶
FreeorLonely · 51-55, F
Amazingly enough no, damn my igloo is starting to melt. 😨
