Will you be affected by the coming winter storm? Looks like we gotta hunker down for a couple of days…

Top | New | Old
No...I live in the Pacific Northwest. But I am seeing those familiar pics of empty shelves at the grocery store. Stay warm, and safe...and be especially careful in those areas projected to get ice.
@BizSuitStacy yeah I went early yesterday and the shelves still had plenty here except most all water was gone. However by evening, I imagine shelves began to look bare.

Definitely now it's a matter of how much we get. It's not going to go above freezing for at least 8 days after. It looks like it's going to impede the ability to get out for some time. I can't shovel that stuff anymore. We haven't had one like they are predicting for quite a while.
@Gibbon wow Worse there than here as usual. Take care of yourself my friend. Stay on out of the mess. Keep your phone charged…and make sure you have blankets ready should power go out and it most likely will. 🫂

@Unefilletrescurieuse Have the blankets and as always being on a well a lot of water in the tub whenever a possible power failure. I used be one of those who would get out and about when this snow kept people in but now I can absolutely do without it.

It’s about to start here, sleet and winter mix today and heavy snow for up to 2 days. Bitter cold, forecast to stay below freezing for a week.
@cherokeepatti stay warm and keep safe Patti!

@Unefilletrescurieuse Thank you, I will if the power stays on. I have a fireplace that can use natural gas or wood if the electric goes off. Shouldn’t stay off for long because my neighbor across the street is on the same circuit as our house and she has to use a C-Pap machine. It is registered with the electric company and this street has a high priority for repairs.

It's supposed to land right on top of me but I don't know how much it will affect me.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Kansas city is cold and 5-8 inches of snow.
James1956 · 61-69, M
8 - 12 inches predicted in my forecast
@James1956 wow just snow? Ours will be ice.
James1956 · 61-69, M
@Unefilletrescurieuse

It was ice here at first but apparently the storm shifted direction.

In Southern California we just ask, “what’s snow?”
@CaliCanadianAngela Nice! I have seen enough of it. Snow is beautiful but I’d be ok if o never saw any more. But what’s worse is ice… we are predicted to have sleet over 24 hours.
Rokan · 36-40, M
Snow isnt a big deal for me but no i wont see any snow.
Rokan · 36-40, M
@Unefilletrescurieuse that sucks i feel for everyone. Id get one though most are less than most peoples phones.
@Rokan I’ve only seen $500.00 ones but they were small and that was years ago. So no, my phone was expensive, but I doubt I could get one now that cheap. But I haven’t shopped around for it either.
Rokan · 36-40, M
@Unefilletrescurieuse Champion 5300 Watt Dual Fuel Generator is showing for around 500.
Raleigh is gonna be under a block of ice. should be fun. 😂
@MayorOfCrushtown Yeah.. that’s what my weather forecast is; Sleet, rain and freezing here starting late afternoon or evening tomorrow. Widespread power outage and long lasting predicted. That’s the part (long lasting that bothers me.”) If only it was snow…instead of rain and ice. 🥶
