My grandmother and my mother both had Hens and chickens in their gardens. They are a great ground cover in areas where you don't want to fuss. The only thing is, they do take over, and eventually they have to be thinned.

@4meAndyou My mom has alot of them too. I live in an apartment so I don't know where I'll plant them come spring but I couldn't just leave them there.
4meAndyou · F
@Tumbleweed They like sun.
Tumbleweed · F
@4meAndyou Ok cool. I have them in a container now so I'll just set them outside in that.

@rinkydinkydoink usually fish are already sick when you bring them home from the pet shop,
Basically all the tanks there a synced to the same filter, so parasites and infections can spread like wildfire.
And on top of that, they're stressed from being moved around.
The best thing you can do it nerd out on common fish illnesses and the warning signs and be familiar with all the medicines they have at the petshop.
It's important to know "early" warning signs because fish tend to hide feeling unwell until they're basically at deaths door.
I had mine for about 4 years now,
But a couple of days after I bought them, I noticed ick starting.
He's behaviour was fine, and it just looked like a few dots were stuck to him,
If I didn't know about it already, I probably would have brushed it off as a bit of fluff in the tank, and they probably would've eventually died from it 😅

@Fishy
Thanks for taking the time to write all that. That was a sweet thing to do.
In truth I'm not a pet person. When my wife passed ( coming up to 6 yrs now) I haven't kept any pets at all.

Aw, poor succulents. Glad you got them
Tumbleweed · F
@Bexsy Right?! I spotted them earlier today where someone had tossed them out.
Justafantasy · M
I feel I should know what the name of those is even though I have none
Tumbleweed · F
@Justafantasy They are called hens & chicks. I don't know the scientific name. They belong outside so they'll go out come spring
Justafantasy · M
@Tumbleweed pineapples and oranges belong outside to, just not where I live. Started a couple mangoes from seed as well, they got put into dirt yesterday
JackOatMon · 46-50, M

Tumbleweed · F

AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@NativePortlander1970 You could get a grow light, they're quite cheap on amazon for a basic one.
