Copper does NOT keep slugs out of your garden

I read on a website discussing natural ways to get rid of slugs that they will not cross over copper. I have a bunch of beading wire that is 100% copper so I started making rings around my plants with it. Then I saw a slug. I surrounded it with the copper wire. The slug slimed its way right over the copper wire like idgaf. I stopped putting copper wire around my plants and gathered the rest back. Dont believe everything you read on the internet and copper is not the solution for everything.

It does work. Slugs can arch their body over a cooper wire so they don't make contact with the copper. You need about a 5 inch wide copper ring to stop a medium sized slug. Cheers!

@Nanoose that sounds like a lot of copper. How about pennies?

@morrgin I did the penny thing. I hot glued pennies to card board strips and placed them around the plants it kind of worked. Cheers!
