Have you ever experienced an earthquake?

Watching a documentary about natural disasters

I didn't know that earthquakes are the most deadly of them all. I would have guessed that would be hurricanes.
I didn't realize how frequent earthquakes are.

I also thought that the bigger earthquakes could be somewhat predicted, not down to the second but at least close.

That's pretty scary to think about, just laying in bed and your house falls on you with no warning
The strongest was a 4.1. It felt like a large truck rumbled by -- then nothing.

When I was 2, my aunt sat me on top of a washing machine just as it went to spin cycle. It felt like my universe was falling apart. It terrified me.

I imagine this is what a full measure quake is like for adults.

They rock and empty swimming pools, and snap suspension bridges like twigs.

@thePearl was it the big one that cause a lot of damage in Katmandu in 2015? I was there not long after that.

Was in Tokyo when a 5.1 hit in 2013, scared the shit out of me. I live in Singapore where natural disasters never happen.

Yes three earthquakes that unnerved me, each one was different. And a lot of smaller ones centered in different areas of Oklahoma.

a few of them. in my home town we got 2 when I was young, strong enough that we had to hold the book shelve cabinets from falling, it was very exciting. another time I was sleeping in a hamac in a cabin in the Amazon forest nearLeticia, at first I thought the wind was shaking the cabin and making my hamac bounce. turns out there had been a pretty big earthquake in Bogota and we felt it but much weaker. also very exciting.

About 50 years ago in Tasmania I was awakened by a rumbling noise and slight movement.
Only time ever.
