@Hatt94 it's more about the gypsy/nomad in us

Camping only counts where there is a remote camping vehicle completed with toilet and a safe space. That's the only way to camp. If I wanted to survive, I'd get stranded

Camping for me these days requires an RV with air conditioning and running water. The roughing it days for me are gone gone.
It does, especially on a mountain in the winter, which I did years ago! It was beautiful opening the tent in the morning to falling snow!
Nowadays, I'm older looking into RVing!

We tented for years. Then we got a travel trailer!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Yeah, it doesn’t always have to be “roughing it.” Most important to be out in nature.
@Adrift I always had an extra large tarp put over my tent to prevent leaks, even though before every camping trip I always put anti leak stuff on my seams.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti Or to wake up at the crack of dawn and finding all the prints of the critters that came to investigate you on your sleeping bag while you were sleeping.
Last time sleeping under the stars without a tent.

@NativePortlander1970 It gushed so hard that trip that we had a huge bubble in the roof and I was dumb enough to reach up and push on it and say, hey look at this.
Justafantasy · M
Overnighted it with an oil skin as the entire camping gear (may have been younger and drunk). And I've had a 38' triple slide fifth wheel to myself. Currently, indifferent to how it gets done
@Justafantasy Do you still have the fifth wheel?
Justafantasy · M
@Musicman nope. Part of my learning about credit lesson when my paychecks got halved due to the economy back when

I camp on the water
I've camped out in every which way ..even did glamping with my cat 😂...it was an experience

They obviously haven't played counter-strike...
KingofBones1 · 46-50, M
Depends on the kind of camping you're doing
Bumbles · 51-55, M
Until you’ve completed the deed above leaf altitude, I got nothing to talk to you about.
Nanori · F
It doesn't count as camping unless you spend 2 hours for a spot to pee
@Nanori That's what 5 gallon home depot buckets and a toilet seat are for.
Frostcloud · F
people gatekeep anything fr
@Frostcloud it's true though. Like you're wrong if you're not doing it a certain way
Frostcloud · F
@MarbleMarvel yeah. as long as you're spending time in and appreciating nature then it's camping in my book
caccoon · 36-40
When I go it's just me and my merkin
@caccoon ferkin merkin

Working on a high end RV park....
I admit I am guilty.

@Musicman I don't get many chances in recent years. A few overnights here and there.
Any of the three. Id go alone or with people. I don't have much preference.
No worries man. There's great people that come through too. It's just part of being part of any business to get over it and 🙄. Familiarity always has a way of removing the luster.

@MethDozer nothing wrong with any kind of camping. I don't get into the high end stuff, I prefer simple
@robingoodfellow Amazingly as we get older I do prefer a bed and a bathroom. RV's just make sense for my wife and I.
robingoodfellow · M
@Musicman as the OP is saying, it's all about just being out there.
@robingoodfellow Yes it is! And whatever way works best for you is the right way. 🙂🙂🙂
I grew up camping in tents, as an adult I preferred camping in tents, Ever since I had my second bout of blood clots I can no longer go camping, I miss it :(
