I have 4 inches of snow on the ground. And a bunch of leaves buried under it. Yuck.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@BizSuitStacy yeah don’t want that. And not all leaves have fallen yet. This is the latest I have ever started taking leaves
BizSuitStacy · M
@cherokeepatti All of ours have dropped. I've been good about keeping on top of the leaves. So it won't be too bad after the melt. 72 sounds nice. We're in the low 30s.

@BizSuitStacy We go up and down. Most days that are warm enough to work outside the wind is blowing strong. It’s only 14 mph right now and the stockade fence in the back yard helps block some of it

Must be lovely to witness the changing of the seasons like that. The flora here never lose their leaves.

@Thevy29 This autumn was very warm so the colors didn’t turn out pretty like most years. We had a freeze and they turned yellow then brown

@cherokeepatti I'm envious. I gotta go to the Botanic Gardens to see plants go through Autumnal changes. Though its spring here. And it has been quite lovely in the gardens.

It is around -3 or 27. I am still chilled from Saturday. The majority of people where I live use leaf blowers. They claim it is easier than raking. I prefer raking. Sometimes I burn the leaves. They are picked up at the roadway by one of those vacuum machines. Pace yourself, Cherokee, you will be sore tomorrow. Can the boy help you?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion He’s at school today and it’ll be almost dark by the time he gets home. He helped last year because the weather was decent when he was home that day

Leaves nake great compost. Also leave a few for the insects to live in as the birds forage in the leaves over the winter too.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou all kinds of snakes, the ones I saw while raking about 10 years ago were grass snakes but I have seen a small rattlesnake here one time. So there could be any kind of snakes in those piles.

@cherokeepatti Still, you have to keep things clean and clear.

Take it easy, we don’t roll with the punches quite as easy as when we were younger!!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Quimliqer That’s the truth
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Quimliqer The city only picks up yard trash on the first Monday of the month in the winter. Maybe I can do a little work during good weather days and get most of it by the January pickup.
