Did u know every single cup of milk you had came from a Pregnant cow?

I did not know that cows cannot produce milk unless they've given birth.

Sadly I can't drink Milk anymore. Causes too much pain from my Gerd.

Yep.

I only drink my own's cow milk and not always. She is a moody one. If she doesn't give, I don't take.

I also have goats so that kinda helps.

And almonds milk recently. It has low fat and wouldn't be as bad for your Gerd. Try it, the unsweetened variety.

The way cows and their calves are treated to provide milk for everyone is too messed up. You should google it. It is terrifying and unnecessary.

@Miram I had both fresh cow and goat milk. Goat milk is sour. I. Had an aunt growing up who I visited who lived on a farm. I spent a week and all she had to drink was milk. The water from the faucet tasted like metal. She only had tofu and tuna to eat. I hated it lmao

They’re in the process of developing milk that has all the same properties and tastes the exact with no lactose without having to get it from a cow. I watched a video and they had taste testers and they couldn’t tell the difference.

Cows, like humans, give milk AFTER they have given birth. If they are not milked daily, their milk eventually dries up.

Cows don’t start giving milk until after they give birth. I was born on a farm and we had about 3 dozen dairy cows.
They don't have to be pregnant anymore, but they have indeed been before they start giving milk. And usually that only lasts as long as calf needs it, but their whole body is tricked into giving milk for years after one pregnancy. Milk is not a natural product the way we produce it.

@NerdyPotato great, give the vegans more ammunition for arguing lol
@pride49 I'm pretty sure they had that one already. 😉

@Incomplet I have never had luck with their dairy products but of course I have not bought anything except "lactose" milk or whatever the standard stuff is called.

I always get mine from Kroger/King Sooper. It usually last at least a week after expire date.

@CestManan ok fine
Yes they make the cow pregnant then milk em after birth corrected
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I lived on a dairy farm and that’s not true. They don’t produce milk until after they’ve given birth. So the cow is no longer pregnant.
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti quite confused why u answered this months ago and rewrote another. I already knew this. A cow cannot give milk until after pregnancy.

Almond milk?
caccoon · 36-40
Yes. So it's not sad! it's bad for you, and the process is cruel
caccoon · 36-40
@CestManan some, but you never know how the animals are being treated

Just like I guess how we don't know how humans are being treated at their jobs... which is why is it always worth it for me to spend my hard earned money toward companies I know/think are doing things ethically... it makes sense to me
CestManan · 46-50, F
@caccoon There ain't a company in the world that does things ethically if they can get away with it. They are ALL a bunch of evil pricks. Their one concern is keeping their share holders happy.
caccoon · 36-40
@CestManan I don't fully agree. Not every company has shareholders
Lilymoon · F
That's sad and gross and nasty. I drink a lot of Almond milk these days.

I don't drink milk either, for the same reason as you.

@SW-User

I love juice of the moo! Funny how humans drink milk from a different species
