I did, it might explain a lot... Leaded gas, DDT, atomic tests, we were just an oversized science lab back in the day!
Cigarguys · 41-45, C

@Musicman they should have clean drinking fountains at the old folks home for us that looks like a garden hose...
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Justmeraeagain Lol!!! I sure hope so! 😂
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@beermeplease Some people have the immune system of buzzards, others get gastro problems from the least thing.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, M
Often
Iwillwait · M
Yes and we all survived.
pdockal · 56-60, M
Still do
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
Of course. It was in the 80's!
BillyMack · 46-50, M
80s kids have the best immune system because of that stuff anyway
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Of course and drinking fountains
Musicman · 61-69, M
Absolutely! Every summer as a kid.
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
I drink straight tap water all the time.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Did it yesterday. Still alive.
Magicianzini · M
There's no difference drinking tap water from the hose or the faucet. All modern plumbing is PVC.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Probably. Would not have harmed me if the tap-water was potable and the hose was not contaminated either biologically or chemically.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Hell no, growing up, the house of my paternal grandparents only had water from a well and we were forbidden to drink even that. My mother didn't even brush her teeth with it. 😆
GoFish ·
yeah in the 90's probably no worse than drinking any bottled water
DavidBianchet2 · 56-60, M
@GoFish Standard vinyl and rubber hoses contain chemicals like phthalates, BPA, and PVC. When heated by the sun, these toxic chemicals leach directly into the water.
GoFish ·
@DavidBianchet2 yeah but we usually drank after the water had ran through a bit and was fresh and cold eh?
TheSandman01 · 16-17, M
Almost every summer, certainly, but I'm not all that old. I asked my grandfather, and he said he drank the water from the garden hose ever since they had running water, and he's doing just fine. Maybe the government don't want us to know it actually prolongs your health. Another conspiracy theory. 🤔
exexec · 70-79, C
Of course, but I let the hot water run out and then drank the cooler water. I certainly wasn't going inside to get a drink.
Wireman · 31-35, M
As a kid I did, now we have a house filter and TO filter, and it still is not enough.
Firestarter · 31-35, F
Yuck!
nonsensiclesnail · F
Ya. It was always hose flavored. Was never a fan. Not anything I would encourage.
@nonsensiclesnail you only drank a tiny amount tho, almost got washed away even
nonsensiclesnail · F
@unsociableAnthony this is very true.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
Yes but mostly straight from the hand-pump on water wells. Ice cold water in teh summer. We never brought water with us when we were kids and hanging outside all afternoon.
Yes
