When a teacher says my kids, they need to be fired?

My cousin has taught 1st grade for over 20 years. For some of “her kids”, she is the only person who has ever shown them any love, kindness, or care. She has spent countless nights crying for their home life or situations and many days celebrating their successes and milestones. Saying these words doesn’t come lightly for most teachers.

And it’s important to know their hands are tied regarding when it comes to curriculum and state/federal mandated requirements.
@checkoutanytime I suppose if that organization does there job then children don’t need a positive role model. I will continue to support the compassionate teacher who spends the most time with a child.
@Pinkstarburst its a law kids even go to school, is the nit and grit of my opposition to this issue. Just make school illegal, problem solved!
@checkoutanytime Wow. Okay.

No. To me it's actually nice to hear that. Teachers act as our children's second parents when they're away from home. They are protectors. They are the ones responsible for the children when they're not in the hands of their parents during the day.

There’s nothing wrong with the statement.

Can we please stop canceling people over the most littlest things? I’m tired of you liberals.

@Abstraction lol I was just mocking the original poster. He’s a conservative and it’s funny calling them liberals whenever they complain about something. I’m sorry 🥺

@TurtlePink My apologies, I completely misread and overreacted.

@Abstraction no need to apologize. You’re fine hun. I totally get it
schools in the 21st century

liberal brainwashing sheds.
No.
When a teacher says "my kids" they mean "the kids i teach"/" the kids in my class".

Its the same as "my desk at work", "my class", "my office", "my boss"...etc.

Its totally normal, has been for decades .

Id be more concerned if they said "those kids" or "the kids"...itd reflect a sense of detachment and lack of any sense of personal care towards their students .

In the UK teachers are in loco parentis so my children is perfectly reasonable. Anyway, would anyone object to a manager saying my workers, my staff, etc.?
Nah .. but the ones abusing kids should be in jail.. its bs
