My cousin has taught 1st grade for over 20 years. For some of “her kids”, she is the only person who has ever shown them any love, kindness, or care. She has spent countless nights crying for their home life or situations and many days celebrating their successes and milestones. Saying these words doesn’t come lightly for most teachers.
And it’s important to know their hands are tied regarding when it comes to curriculum and state/federal mandated requirements.

@Pinkstarburst i agree, & disagree. Its dcyfs job not teachers responsibility to determine. Is why teachers need to stay in their lane, or they can be viewed as communist for their propaganda.
@checkoutanytime I suppose if that organization does there job then children don’t need a positive role model. I will continue to support the compassionate teacher who spends the most time with a child.

@Pinkstarburst its a law kids even go to school, is the nit and grit of my opposition to this issue. Just make school illegal, problem solved!
