Does winter make you feel gloomy?

NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
Yeah, I fucking hate this time of year and the stupid day light saving change of the time thing makes it even worse..
I hate day light savings. @NewBeginnings7790

@Spoiledbrat It’s dumb

When snow covers everything and the sun is shining its far from gloomy
helenS · 36-40, F
I love this time of year when it's cold and dark and wet outside and the rain is pouring down into the lake. I need a rain coat and wellies to walk along the water. It's good to be alone with the rain and the snow. Evenings are very long and I can watch full-length records of Baroque operas while drinking some Amarone. Time to read the Iliad again, with dreams of being Chryseis.
It has but it doesn't last that long or get that bad so I usually get by.

i'm a winter lover and like i always say, you can either have fun with it or suffer it. I do a lot of winter activities: I downhill ski, crosscountry ski, sledding, walking, biking. i bike in snow storms !!! so because of this, to me, winter=fun. the alternative is to sit at home and wait for winter to end. and that is something to feel gloomy about.

Commuting this time of the year in bumper to bumper traffic in an endless sea red light leaves me exhausted on a daily basis.
On positive side I definitely enjoy dressing this time of the year. Nothing like looking you best while trying to stay warm when you are out and about in your finest of winter clothing.

Yes I get depressed...so I try to keep busy
Some people may have Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.)
It starts in the Fall, lasts through Winter, and ends in the Spring. Some symptoms are depression, moodiness, sleeping too much, having little to no energy, and eating too much. Check with your Doctor.
Yes. I struggle this time of year.

When I was younger, it did. Now I actually like the way it looks outside during the winter. For me personally, there is a nostalgic feeling attached to it when the snow finally flies, and it gets colder. I seem to gain energy and feel different.

@Spoiledbrat January is the worst month. Xmas and New Year over and not much to look forward to until Valentine's Day or Easter. 😥
