In theory yes, and also in theory a FLAC can sound better than any CD. Modern amps with more detail often reveal more than their tube counterparts, but it depends on what you define as natural. I think some make the mistake because it's analog it's the closest we have to a live recording and being in the room with the musician. It's all transcribed, a piece of tape, or vinyl with etchings holding musical notes is also transcribing. I know with my Cambridge Audio amp if I place a record on my record player I hear the weaknesses of the vinyl recording, where if I play a lossless digital recording I hear every detail. It's really about how you pair

Maybe a CD can sound as good as 331/3 vinyl record. But a CD can never sound as good as 331/3 sized vinyl record that is meant to play at 45 RPMs. Falco did all his records that way.
Cheers!

Analog audio is natural. Digital audio is not. Synthesizers produce unnatural sounds.
