@FreddieUK you are quite correct there! It's a desert!

It's amazing what a little water will do when you can afford to buy the water. This is why the price tag of $867 USA per day.

@geoam1 I was probably there! I went to Mount San Jacinto JC in the middle of the 80s!

My large festival days are over but I will do smaller ones. Super commercial artists don’t appeal to me at all and I cannot tolerate the uncomfortable accommodations. The main goal of the majority of the festival fans is Drugs.

@TheShanachie your concerns are similar. Just there's no such thing as a small event here in my point of view.

@jehova It's a complex issue, that has it's roots back when Sunny Bono banned spring breakers, in the late 1980s. His solution was the obvious Republican solution. Make them pay for their fun.
Hence the cities all profit off all these festivals, in many many ways.
There's at least six cities involved in all of this. And each makes money off of the taxes, employment (security guards), business profits, housing for the very wealthy (Airbnb's), heck even it bought the airport, which is now an international airport.
Coachella valley even has a professional hockey team, not to mention the PGA tour golf tournament. These two things brought the snowbirds in Canada, for the winter months. Canadians just love hockey.
All due to the rioting spring break college kids, decades ago.

Or use the bath room
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@NinaTina no BATHROOM. Porta potties are located closer to the concert areas.
