When did you last visit a different country?

Friends kindly put us up but we paid our own airfare!

@Quimliqer I've never seen Aruba. I wouldn't mind! Friends were in Curaçao so we went where they were.

Noting your comment about Aruba.... nice beaches! I only spent an afternoon there but 'saw it all' as far as my needs were... Lots of cactus, lots of rocks. Main activities seemed to be beaching, drinking and night-life for folks in their 40-50s.

i'm not a much of social butterfly, really. and it actually appeals to me to be on a less-populated ship, yet a big one that weathers the sea more assuredly

@pentacorn How about a barge ride on the Rhine or Danube? Same thing for accommodation only more things to watch on the shore as you cruise by! Again... We didn't do it by barge, but the long-boats are a wonderful experience. There are 'group' types of tours that would cater to someone who doesn't want to socialize all the time but who wants some company. We've met and traveled with single people on several of our trips.

@ChipmunkErnie 1969.... That's a while ago! Come on back... lots has changed. I lived in Calgary Alta at the time you last came up.... It was a lovely little city then... now it's metropolitan as are Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and even Winnipeg (spread out but small city attitudes). Nice small cities are, Halifax, Kelowna, Ottawa, Quebec, Saskatoon.

@Ozymandiaz Yes, family near both borders. From the Canadian border to the Mexican border via I-29-I-35, about 28 hours driving time and maybe a half dozen traffic lights.

@Ozymandiaz I was in London to take an exam and then went to Dublin after. I remember being at a small town whose name I can't remember but it had a cool historic chapel.
