If John Lennon hadn't been shot that time, do you think he would still be alive now?

Or do you think he would have died of something else by now?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
The great unanswered question isn't it.
People's last memory of Lennon is probably all that hippy stuff from the early 70's.
Worth remembering also that Lennon has two sons that have grown up since his death.
Had he lived they might have been an influence on whether he'd still be recording today.

Mark David Chapman was 25 when he shot Lennon.
He was married himself at the time.
Plead guilty prior to trial. The Judge having rejected a plea of insanity
Sentenced to 20 years to life in '81 at conclusion of his plea deal with prosecutor. The Judge having accepted the plea.
Today Chapman is 68
Chapman became eligible for parole in 2000. But has been denied 12 times.
Sean Lennon is alleged to have said "I don't want that man released while my Mother is still alive'.
Yoko Ono - Lennon's widow has said similar at parole hearings personally several times.
Ono is 90.

He'd be dead by now. No man could listen to Yoko Ono that long.
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@HoraceGreenley I don't care for Yoko as a singer myself, but she's not a bad person. A lot of people say unfair things about her.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BijouPleasurette
I can't get past her singing...if you can call it that
Amylynne · 26-30, F
rich old guys last a long time consider the Stones
money helps a lot
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@Amylynne Brian Jones, dead at 27 (drowned in his own pool after getting "stoned")
Ian Stewart, dead at 47 (respiratory problems, heart attack)
Charlie Watts, 80 (cancer)
Bewilderbeeste · 61-69, M
Who can tell, Bijou? He was a strange guy.
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@Bewilderbeeste I certainly don't.
Bewilderbeeste · 61-69, M
@BijouPleasurette You wouldn't.
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@Bewilderbeeste What's that supposed to mean?
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@bijoupleasurette] 🤷‍♂️bit of an unfair question in a way as who could honestly forecast that accurately
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@smiler2012 Fair enough point, but I just wondered what people thought.
Fairydust · F
I’d say yes he would be alive.

He was speaking out against the global elites.
Depends on if he had quit smoking or not. From what I recall, he wasn't too keen on the association between smoking and cancer. Paul and Ringo quit. George was a heavy smoker, and it likely contributed to his cancer. George's death might have snapped John into reality on the risks of smoking.

He was myopic and dyslexic. Neither of those are fatal! Most common causes of death are:
1/ cardiovascular disease or accidents
2/ cancer
3/ accidents
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
no, he'd probably have eventually died from drug addiction or hiv/aids anyways... 🤔
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
Probably yes
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@BLP11520 Yes, he would still be alive, or yes, he would have died from something else?
Fungirlvape · 61-69, F
It’s hard to say
Human1000 · M
Chances are yes because he’d be 83
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@Human1000 Like what? WTF are you on about? 🤔
Human1000 · M
@BijouPleasurette So, you don’t know?
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@Human1000 No, I haven't a f***ing clue what you're babbling on about.
Could go either way at that age. Harrison is dead. Three of the 4 original Ramones are dead from cancer (the 4th OD'd).

But I dunno, there sure are a disproportionate number of centenarians on SW (one even commented on this very post!), so maybe we're gonna live to 200 now 🙄
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@BlueGreenGrey Half those profiles are fake, at least their "ages" are.
