Your post just made me think of my one cat who looked a lot like Pashmak and the last time I held him it was snowing while I had to take him to the vet to put him down. The vet thanked me for holding him and being there. I can't imagine, but some I imagine can't be, and I knew he had to be in my arms. I wasn't letting him go anywhere without me.

@Soossie Once stayed in an ancient cottage in the middle of a bog in Connemara. Thick concrete walls cut out all sound from outside and almost all light although the stars in the night sky were much brighter than usual; no light pollution. In the morning I noticed the female member of the young couple who owned it out in the garden picking my breakfast - herbs and edible flowers. A unique and memorable experience. We've lost a lot because of "progress". 🥴
