do you miss your youth as far as your musical era is concerned?

i really miss the 80s. i was born in early 70s but was too young to go to any concert (although i did want to see kiss in 1977 but mom said no) i would have loved to have gone to woodstalk in '69. for now i'll cherrish the 80s. just wondering if you millenials or gen z's would have like to been part of the 80s scene?

I don't miss that aspect of my youth (that would be the 90s in my case) in any way. I don't see the 1990s as a creative period when it's about music. It was all just warmed-up turkey, badly recycled stuff from earlier periods. Regarding popular music, I think there was a burst of creativity between the mid 40s (birth of bebop) and the mid 70s (progressive rock and blues, jazz rock fusion). 😐
@helenS i agree...good answer.

@beermeplease Thank you very much 🌷

@helenS I would disagree in the sense that there were many talented groups/artists that either came out in that period or came to a creative peak during that time.
I was born in the 60s in England hearing all the great music my siblings heard .
I grew up in the 70s .
Personally I prefer the 60s stuff. Vut 79s is also good.
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters so many amazing bands out of the uk.... sabbath, iron maiden, judas priest...the list is endless...
@beermeplease go back earlier to the beat bands and the British Invasion

{@beermeplease ] i was born in sixty three so remember the music of the late seventies and how styles changed the era of punk which never had any interest too me
@smiler2012 i like some punk but not a lot of it....

The rock n’ roll of the 60’s and 70’s was much better than today’s music. It’s certainly the most timeless in my lifetime - and beyond, I’m sure.
@Adogslife absolutely....!
no,,, i like music from all periods,, much of what was pop when i was young was complete crap

I was born in the Mid 60's but did not really get into music until the early 70's.. So from around 1872 to the time when rap music started to dominate popular music in the 90's i was into music big time... I did like some groups like Green day and Linkin Park into the 2000'ds and there is the occasional song now that catches my ear..

My favorite era is still the Original British Invasion (1963-66) and their American counterparts too. I gave up on pop music when it began getting psychedelic and folk rock. I listened to oldies and Country after that. But I still listen to the good stuff on YouTube.

Had big bands playing local small venues in 70s ,,, T rex played our town park , Judas Priest played our cinema but the place i didn’t get to was Wigan casino I regret that
No cause i can sing music from any era at any time so.. theres no need to miss it

Well I was born late 70s and I def miss the 80s. Didn’t know then how good everything was.
I like 80's music. The 70's are a little early for me but I still like it.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Not sure if I miss it -- I have most of it on MP3.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I think I do, only because I found more of the music enjoyable. I still find new music good, but the landscape is entirely different now.

@Stereoguy It was a pretty good show all around. Of course, being my first concert makes it something to remember. Aerosmith had more songs I was familiar with, but that didn't take anything away from BTO.

@Stereoguy I always wanted to see Boston when I was younger but in a smaller market(OKC), a lot of the bigger names never came there.
