Do you hate when someone calls a song you like shitty or garbage?

It's annoying. But I've also done it many times before.

Music is just personal taste. It's not a moral issue.

PS. All music from the last fifteen years is absolute shite!

If they know you like it, it's definitely offensive, they are being awkward and should know better.

The best way is to respond to someone who says that is by saying, "Who asked for your opinion?" or better yet " What's shitty or garbage is your attitude ".

Don't let negative things people say destroy the pleasure you find in music or things you love. Lacking respect, no wonder they lack taste too.

I’ve never spent a great deal of time with people who shared my taste in music. Typically we’re more polite about it, but if someone said that I’d just shrug them off. It wouldn’t alter my enjoyment of the song.

I think the songs we like are a part of us.

Not at all. I pride myself on having high standards when it comes to finding quality music, but that's also completely subjective. If someone loathes a song I happen to adore, that's too bad, but it doesn't bother me any. I'm used to being the only one who likes any music as much as I do anyway.

In general you would have to look really hard to find forms of good music post 1990. What people consider music today is nothing more than a vile form of Hollywood propaganda.

All designed to dumb down the population and decay society.

Good music usually has great musicians, lyrics, a melody, a beat, at least one hook line, and it should touch a person deep inside and move them. It should display harmony and rhythm.

What do you have today in a good majority of so-called music? Vile chanting, massive sex. and disgusting foul mouthed language.

Having said all that, there are exceptions, I hope you find them, I wish you luck in doing so.

But more importantly check out the tunes from 1940 -1980, there are millions of songs there to keep you busy for many lifetimes.

Yes. Everyone doesn’t like the same music, but folks don’t have to be abusive about it. Saying "I don’t like it" gets the point across.

I hate music snobs, particularly those who think that they are better than you because of their niche tastes. They can fuck right off.

Hate it? No, but slightly disappointed at the way they'd express their disinterest. I like really weird stuff, so I don't expect my friends or anyone else to like it really, but I mostly consider it their way of expressing that it triggers quite a negative response in them. So long as they don't actively try to pursue a line of disrespect about it then it's fine.

It wouldn't hang with me and ruin the song for me. I wouldn't think about them and the situation listening to the song.
