@OldBrit Wow. We listened to much the same stuff. Remember the thud in my chest of the bass drum from Supertramp when they did the Crime of the Century tour in Melbourne.

Very good albums. With Tales I can take side 1 and side 4 and you’d have a solid album. Anderson has admitted he became over ambitious with that album. The band was not firing on all cylinders and Wakeman was distracted with a solo project. No surprise really. After all of the energy and talent they exerted in Close To The Edge they were probably a tad burned out. I have Yessongs and have listened to it many times but I am more a fan of Yesshows. Ritual really comes alive on that live album for me. Great to meet another fan. Have you ever watched reaction videos of people listening to Yes for the first time? Love those. Especially when Millennials get their first taste and are rendered slack jawed with amazement. It’s kinda like hearing it for yourself for the first time all over again. @Abstraction

Agreed! So so agreed! It was the last time Anderson and Howe wrote together. Not sure what happened, but would guess it was the usual rock star clash of egos. But at least their magnum opus was created and completed before that happened. @Abstraction

Mark Farner was the driving force of GFR and a great lead singer and showman.
And we can all thank Don Brewer for the break-up of one terrific band that could still be making music on a GFR scale today.

@Alisha233 Rolling Stones, credence Clearwater Revival, Black Crowes, cream, Jimi Hendrix, Willse Nelson, Waylon Jennings. That’s some of my favorites. But on short time that is pretty good.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Focus: I used to work out the guitar lines from Jan Akkerman - loved playing Hocus Pocus on my guitar, but our singer wasn't ever going to attempt that yodel. I still play Le Clochard as a classical guitar piece now and then when I pick up my nylon string.

@Abstraction Thjiss van Leer still tours playing Focus tunes with a group he dares to call Focus.
And keeps coming up with new Albums.Occasionally there is a good track.
My parents hated Hamburger Concert......no idea why!
And we had a cool music teacher who used to play us Focus tunes😀
