Name a great older (before 1990?) musical group you recommend. Thanks.

The Yes Album
Fragile
Close To The Edge
Going For The One
I do like all of their stuff up to 1994 (Talk) and after that they kind went over the edge, off the cliff and down into the valley 馃槅

@stratosranger I still highly rate Fly From Here and From a Page from the later output but agree Heaven And Earth and The Quest only have a couple of mediocre tracks on them.

Jon Anderson is doing a tour in USA next year with a group called Band Geeks playing the classics. Band Geeks are one of the best covers bands out there

@stratosranger I was a massive fan. Loved Yessongs and Tales from Topographic Oceans also - didn't make your list but up there for me.
Very good albums. With Tales I can take side 1 and side 4 and you鈥檇 have a solid album. Anderson has admitted he became over ambitious with that album. The band was not firing on all cylinders and Wakeman was distracted with a solo project. No surprise really. After all of the energy and talent they exerted in Close To The Edge they were probably a tad burned out. I have Yessongs and have listened to it many times but I am more a fan of Yesshows. Ritual really comes alive on that live album for me. Great to meet another fan. Have you ever watched reaction videos of people listening to Yes for the first time? Love those. Especially when Millennials get their first taste and are rendered slack jawed with amazement. It鈥檚 kinda like hearing it for yourself for the first time all over again. @Abstraction

@stratosranger Awaken is the high art of rock. Stunning song.
Agreed! So so agreed! It was the last time Anderson and Howe wrote together. Not sure what happened, but would guess it was the usual rock star clash of egos. But at least their magnum opus was created and completed before that happened. @Abstraction
